Dear friends,
My name is Costantino. I'm a firefighter living in Rome and a proud ally of the LGBT community.
That's why last month, I was so excited to march in Rome's annual Pride parade in my firefighter uniform. But now, I could be fired because of it.
A few weeks after the march, I got a letter from my employers accusing me of "shaming and ridiculing" my colleagues...
Now I'm awaiting a disciplinary hearing where my "punishment" will be decided and I need your help.

In so many other countries, firefighters, police officers, and other public service employees regularly march in Pride in their uniforms... and are often praised for it! Why am I so different?
If I end up getting fired for this, it would be the first time it's happened in Italy's history. This is NOT the type of history I want to be making!
No one should lose their job for standing up for what they believe in not in Italy, not anywhere.
In solidarity,
Costantino Saporito,
Unione Sindacale di Base, National Coordinator.
