Government of Zambia Recruitment - Radiation Protection Authority (RPA)


The Government of the Republic of Zambia created Radiation Protection Authority (RPA) through the enactment of the Ionising Radiation Protection Act No. 16 of 2005. The RPA is a body corporate which has a duty to protect the public, workers and the environment from the harmful effects arising from the use of devices or materials capable of producing ionising radiation. In its continued effort to effectively carry out its mandate, the Authority seeks to employ appropriately qualified persons in the following positions:
Driver (1)
Job Objective
To drive the Authority vehicles in as safe manner in order to transport staff, good and materials as directed and ensuring that the vehicle is always clean and in working condition.
Required Qualifications
  1. Full grade twelve (12) Certificate of Education with credit in English
  2. Class ‘A-C1’ clean driving license
  3. Mechanic from a reputable organisation
  4. Good command of English and able to communicate easily
  5. Pleasant interpersonal skills
  6. Minimum of five (5) years working experience as a driver
  7. Must be between the age of 35 to 40 years
Technologist (3)
Job Objective
To undertake the issuance and evaluation of Thermo Luminescence Dosimeters (TLD) in order to assess the absorbed dose.
Radiation Safety Officer (1)
Job Objective
To undertake the provision of regulatory services in order to ensure adherence to national and international set standards.
Senior Human Resources and Administration Officer (1)
Job Objective
To coordinate the human resource and co-ordinate administrative functions in order to promote efficient and effective operations of the Institution
Internal Auditor (1)
Job Objective
To manage internal audit procedures in order to ensure effective controls are adhered to in the utilisation of funds for the Authority.
Accountant (1)
Job Objective
To manage accounting activities in order to ensure proper accountability of Institutional resources
Key responsibilities and duties
  • Ensures timely preparation of monthly expenditure statements in order to monitor levels of expenditure banking of revenue collections in order to ensure accountability and safety of funds
  • Manages accurately books of accounts to ensure availability of information for informed decision making by management and for auditing purposes effectively maintenance of up to date asset registers in order to ensure accountability for the assets of the Institution timely development of individual work plans and implementation of Annual Performance
  • Appraisal System in order to monitor and evaluate performance
  • Supervises effectively subordinate staff and utilisation of resources in order to achieve objectives of the Accounts Department
  • Ensures effectively security of accounting documents and records in order to avoid loss
