For Yalelo, Procurement is viewed as vital support function, that impacts the smooth and effective running of the business. The objective of the Procurement department is to add value to the organisation by providing efficient and responsive procurement services, obtaining high quality goods and services at a reasonable price.
Yalelo is looking for a talented individual to join the team as a Procurement Intern, assisting in all aspects of the procurement process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Intern will be responsible for, amongst other things:
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with co-workers, the management team and other relevant stakeholders
- Communicating with suppliers, obtaining price quotes and requesting completion of Procurement-related forms
- Expediting Purchase Requisitions and Orders as per business priorities
- Inputting data into the Procurement system and maintaining the Supplier database
- Daily Procurement Status Reporting
- General Administration work
- Participating in department activities and completing assigned tasks/participating in relevant departmental projects
- Other duties as assigned
Yalelo seeks the services of a qualified Operations Director who will be responsible for all operations at the Siavonga aquaculture production site and will lead a team of experts, working together to meet Yalelo’s production targets.
Responsibilities:
- Drive adoption of quality management philosophy in order to optimize operations in line with international best practice
- Lead implementation of ERP system which cements high quality processes into standard Yalelo operations
- Oversee functional managers (Hatchery, Lake Operations, Quality Control, Engineering, and Administration) to ensure production reliably meets cost and volume targets
- Manage expansion projects enabling increased production and establishment of processing capabilities
- Aggressively utilize production trials and general data capture & analysis initiatives across all teams for the purpose of continuous improvement
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, biosecurity and general security
- Manage employee and local community relations
Location: Siavonga, Zambia (Lake Kariba)
Compensation: Competitive based on experience. Target-based bonus.
