PROJECT OFFICER (2 POSITIONS)
Position Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Chipata & Choma
Overview:
The Project Officer under guidance of the Operations Manager will lead the regional component of the Safe Motherhood 360+ Project of managing the project budget component, administration, coordination and provide logistical support to project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning and Implementation
- Facilitate development of quarterly provincial and district specific plans for SM360+ specific activities
- Consolidate regional quarterly implementation plans and submit to Operations Manager
- Ensure logistical support is provided for efficient implementation of SM360+ activities at regional level
- Provide leadership in coordinating SM360+ activities with provincial and district SMGL Coordinators
- Facilitate the implementation of minor refurbishments and other requirements within SM360+ focus districts
- Provide leadership in engaging with district and provincial Ministry of Health offices regarding district lead project leadership and transition for all SM360+ activities at regional level
- Represent SM360+ teams during Ministry of Health routine meetings at district and provincial level
- Provide leadership in the planning for recognition meeting in liaison with technical teas within the region
Change Control Process
- Initiate change requisition processes in liaison with technical teas within the region
- Work with Technical Advisor training to support the planning for regional trainings for SM360+ project
Project Management
- Provide leadership in supporting project management roll out and implementation at regional level
- Support quarterly review of implementation project management standards
- Provide leadership in the drafting of regional monthly and quarterly reports for SM360+ project activities being led by Jhpiego
- Provide leadership in the development of regional budgets disaggregated to district level
Qualifications
- University Degree in Humanities and Social Science/ Business Administration or equivalent.
- 3 years’ experience in a responsible office
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Understanding of USAID rules and regulations
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office application packages
- Strong communication Skills
- Fluency in English
- Understanding of Ministry of Health (MOH) systems
