Concern is implementing the Zambia Female Youths Livelihood and Nutrition Enhancement Project (FYNEP) in collaboration with the World Bank with funding from the Japanese Social Development Fund. The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve access to livelihood opportunities and nutrition among selected female youths in targeted project areas. The project has 4 main components; a life skills curriculum to increase control and knowledge around life choices and nutrition, a livelihoods component focussed on agricultural livelihoods related to improved nutrition, a health component to directly support pre-conception nutrition and nutrition outreach. This project will benefit an estimated 24,600 persons in Limulunga and Kaoma Districts of Western Province and started on the 1st July 2015 with three-year duration.

Community Development Facilitator X 3 – Individual Consultant- Limulunga District

Objectives of the Consulting Assignment
The Community Development Facilitator will work closely with Project Support Officers to provide technical support in the implementation of FYNEP activities in Kaoma or Limulunga districts. The CDFs will also work with Peer Leaders of the Girl Clubs and Community Volunteers on different activities including providing trainings, mentoring, organisation, supervision, and monitoring of the implementation of activities.
Consultant qualifications and experience
  • Diploma/certificate level training in any of the areas of in agriculture, rural development, nutrition, health, community development or related field
  • At least 3 years progressive field experience working with rural communities with a focus on agriculture. , life skills, health or nutrition.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with youth and women.
  • Excellent facilitation skills with an empowering style
  • Training experience in a related field
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle, with valid license or willingness to learn to ride a motorcycle.
As this role is entirely engaged with young women between the ages of 10 and 24, preference will be shown to suitably qualified female candidates.
