Addison: Appellate Court rules that the DEC can enter the 7-Eleven property
The Appellate Division of New York State Supreme Court has reversed a 2016 Steuben County court decision that bars the Department of Environmental Conservation or its contractors from entering the 7-Eleven property on Main Street in Addison. Environmental officials said a report revealed the presence of gasoline in the groundwater and they sought to remediate any potential spills. The county court sided with the convenience store but the higher court disagreed with the ruling. In a three page decision issued last week, the high court gave the DEC the green light to enter the property and inspect the facility. You can read the entire decision HERE.
