Hello I.D.C. family, I must admit that i was one who initially promoted free speech here at Paddy's Pub and Grub, (Steak and Shake?), suggesting to either skip a post or ignore it completely if it wasn't for you. I believe the basis of free speech is a fundamental right, and in the "open air forum" that we all provide for, speak your mind and accept what consequences may come.
However, the argument made by One Who Knows this evening holds, A LOT of merit, IMO. We are entitled to determine who, what, how, when, where certain messages are permitted in our homes and in the businesses we own. The "WHY" is what grants us our freedom to choose. The why is everything...Kids too young to discuss sex specifics?... Not in this house. Talk at the dinner table to crass or disrespectful to you or your partner?....Not today bud. Customer with a complaint walks into your business and instead of presenting a fact based, logical, rational argument, they scream, yell and threaten?.... He's right over here officer, and he has made threats to old Mrs. Smith, NO, NO, and NO. Poor Mrs Smith was just trying to turn her hearing aide up...
In this business, Patrick carries an immediate VETO vote! He's on the UN Security Council here. The rest of us are just voters in the forum. Some have EARNED Patrick's trust and therefore their votes carry greater weight. Fair trade in my opinion for what they do for us. For the rest of us, check your box either in support of, or dissent for or indifference for any sentiment you choose to read. Patrick will respond accordingly. Majority rules, the basis of what we are trying to get back to in a restored republic.
As for a "poster" earning chalk, white, black, or Heis rave colored orange, that is between them and those they are hoping to receive a gift from.
As for any post we don't like, make you opinion known. Pat has pulled posts before, and left some that maybe could have been pulled.
If a post will do harm to anyone, then Patrick has an obligation to pull the post or expose himself to liability. That one is easy...
How can we still be fighting this much when we might be right on the physical, emotional, spiritual threshold of the most amazing time in history, and this topic is still here?
Me, i want to discuss healing machines, replicators and for the love of all that is sacred and holy, anti gravity vehicles.... Imagine flying to Paris for dinner, catching a show at the Melbourne Opera House and watching the sun come up over the Rocky Mountains... Honestly that could easily be a night out for us here shortly.
Please don't let your "glass half empty" tendencies get in the way of that being an option for you or me.
Share your positive, keep your negative, unless asking for help, and just take a damn moment to be AMAZED with what is just about to be ours to share.
