Picture this! 500 acres of flat meadows surrounded by wooded hills on three sides. A sprawling flagstone and brick porch lines the front and back of the beautifully constructed two story residence and Welcome Center. Upon entering to register, our guests will be welcomed personally by a greeter who will answer questions, and help introduce them to the many amenities, activities, and programs available to them while staying at the American Spirit Veterans Resort. While inside the Welcome Center our guests will be given a short tour and the option of watching a short video while enjoying a beverage as well as homemade delicacies baked in the Centers state of the art kitchen. All this to make sure each guest recognizes how important and welcome they are.
On the Campus, there will be much to do! For the fisherman, a floating houseboat will be available on Colonial Lake for a few hours of bass fishing the peaceful waters, a quiet atmosphere, rods and bait supplied. For the swimmer, a lifeguard will be available the ensure safety as our guests enjoy the use of either the salt water or spring-fed pool areas where they will also be able to use the pool-house facility to shower and get ready for another outdoor activity. Scattered on grounds will be several outdoor game opportunities that include, but not limited to, shuffleboard, bean bag toss tic-tac-toe, horseshoes, tennis, basketball, and a 12 hole pitch and putt golf course. The equine program will provide an opportunity for guests to enjoy either an indoor arena, an outdoor arena or trail ride session, horses for every level of ability will be provided and all equine activities will be fully supervised by professional horse handlers and riding instructors. Evening entertainment and activities will also be made available and attended at the guests' discretion.
Scattered throughout the property will be unique and theme dedicated housing that can be reserved to guarantee availability. Still under the planning stages are the Forest Trails, Round-Up Road, Casting Lane, Fairway Drive, and Seasons Blvd. Each short roadway will have five (5) units built individually with the capability of sleeping 4-5 people and will be equipped the most up to date safety features and amenities to ensure that every need of our guests will be available. In addition, there will be and indoor entertainment and movie house built on the campus as well as an indoor picnic lodge as well as outdoor picnic areas throughout the grounds. Over by Pond of Dreams, there will be a small chapel constructed in order for guests to be able to attend services if they desire. At other times, the building will be open for meditation and arranged counseling services. A chaplain will be available on call. In all, 112 people will have to be hired to help this dream come true!
