There's no safe place for us here

Hello ,
I can't tell you where I'm writing from because I'm afraid my family will find me. They forced me to marry a man I didn't know, as punishment for being a lesbian.
I had to run away from home. But because being gay is illegal here in Morocco, I couldn't go to the police or a women's shelter. And there are no shelters for lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people here, either.
I was incredibly lucky to find a group of activists who help homeless LGBT people. This group (who wishes to remain anonymous for their own safety) found a temporary apartment where I can hide, but I can't stay here for long.
This group already has a secret location ready to turn into a shelter for me and other LGBT people. But they have very limited resources and can't afford the costs of rent, food, medical support, and other necessities. That's why I'm reaching out to you today.
Help launch Morocco's first LGBT shelter. Chip in now.
With enough support from All Out members, this group of activists will be able to keep an emergency shelter running for at least a year. This will have a huge impact on the lives of LGBT people in need. There has never been a safe place for us to go when our families kick us out, or we need to hide from persecution or violence.
I hope one day my family will accept me for who I am. Until then, I'm also getting help with going back to school so I can continue my studies, find a job, and support myself.
I'm so grateful for their help. But I know many others like me are in urgent need of help, too.
Thanks for going All Out,
Sophia*
