A well-established Mining Company seeks to employ four (4) highly motivated individuals and self-starters in the Company’s Laud & Haul Section under the Mining Department, as Dozer Operators. Gemcanton Investments Holdings Limited operates an emerald mine situated in Pilala Area of Lufwanyama Emerald Restricted Area in Kitwe.

Report to: Laud & Haul Supervisor/Shift Boss
Basis: 12 days on | 4 days off
Location: Zambia | Kitwe, Lufwanyama
Functional Summary
Reporting to the Load & Haul Supervisor/Shift Boss, the job of the Dozer Operator will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Dozer in its application in various Open Pit Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the Dozer and any other earth moving equipment (preferably Grader, ADT or Excavator)
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks
- Understanding, interpreting & following instructions from the supervisors/shift bosses as required
- Use the Dozer to level soil, move rock & debris
- Use Standard Dozer application & technique in efficient dump building & clearing
- Use Standard Dozer application & technique in performing Open Pit operations (ramping, bench profiling & floor clearing)
- Able to use the Dozer in bush clearing jobs
- Contribute, promote and adhere to the company’s safety program
Minimum Qualifications
- At least, a Grade 12 Certificate
- Dozer Operator Certificate
- Valid Driver’s License
- Work experience of at least 3-5 years practical Open Pit Mine experience
Core Competencies & Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of efficient & safe Dozer operation practices
- Ability to operate any other Earth Moving Machines (preferably Excavator, Grader, ADT) will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in standard Dozer application & techniques needed for ramping at required grades, Dump building / clearing, bush clearing & general floor clearing.
- Understanding of Computerized controls & electronics
