PPAZ is seeking a qualified person for the position of
Director of Programmes to be based in Lusaka.
Job Purpose
To oversee the coordination and administration of all aspects of ongoing programmes including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling programme activities.
The primary roles of the Director of Programmes are:
Plan the delivery of the programmes and their activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the Association
Provide strategic leadership to PPAZ programme staff
Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the programmes
Develop the Annual Programme Budget (APB) and to provide guidance and leadership during implementation of APB
Develop funding proposals for the programmes to ensure the continuous delivery of services
Ensure that programme activities operate within the policies and procedures of the Association and comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards
Establish and implement a performance management process for all programme staff
Build capacity of staff to be proactive and effective in responding to the advocacy challenges facing Zambia in the field of SRH
Supervise programme staff by providing direction, input and feedback
Communicate with partners and other stakeholders to gain political and community support for the programme and to solicit input to improve the program
Liaise with other managers to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery
Provide leadership in the preparation of reports for management and for funders
Communicate with funders as outlined in funding agreements
Ensure that the programmes operate within the approved budget
Monitor and approve all budgeted programme expenditures
Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be requested
Service Provider (Kitwe, Lusaka and Livingstone)
The Reproductive Health Service Provider will be responsible and accountable to the Health Centre-in-Charge and will provide sexual reproductive health services through both static and outreach sites. She/he will submit daily service reports to the Health Centre in Charge. Provide safe, youth friendly sexual and reproductive health services including family planning. Screen clients for the appropriate contraceptive methods and STI treatment. Prepare and refer clients to other institutions for services not available at the clinic. Provide counselling and testing for HIV and other STIs and conduct counselling for other reproductive health concerns. Collect pap smears for screening of cancer of the cervix. Provide Maternal Child Health services. Prepare and submit timely service statistics and reports on project activities. Ensure effective implementation of Behavioural Change Communication activities. Ensure effective infection control in the clinic as per stipulated regulations.
Health Centre in Charge to be based in Lusaka.(1)
The overall responsibility of the Health Centre-In-Charge will be to provide effective and efficient practical implementation of all the sexual and reproductive health services through the centre and outreach sites. He/she will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising and reporting the activities and the resources of the Reproductive Health Centre. Ensure provision of quality sexual and reproductive health services and carry out day to day administration of the Centre. Coordinate the centre based and outreach sexual and reproductive health services. Supervise and provide technical support to staff regarding the provision of sexual and reproductive health services. Prepare the Annual Programme Budget for centre based and outreach activities. Ensure availability of commodities consumables, equipment and other activities for centre based and outreach activities. Be accountable for all assets of the Association under custody. Account for project income and expenditure.
