To the IDC family, I am excited and oh so ready, as are we all. While it has been made clear that we are to be positive, allow me to share with you the recounting of how the national anthem of the republic for the united States of America, came to be. Link at bottom.
This telling of the role that Francis Scott Key played as a negotiator for freedom and how he observed and relayed information to those whose freedom he was negotiating is profound. Their prayers were powerful, no doubt. Mr Key was not the focal point of what i took internally.
The inspiration in this article occurred to me in 2 distinctively different moments. The first was the decision that the British navy brought every warship to bear. Every gun pointed at Fort Henry, and later, pointed directly at the flag pole supporting the flag of 13 colonies. The firepower, and the sheer determination of the mighty British navy to try and force the will of free men and women to subjugate themselves to the English Crown.
More powerful yet was the stout, steadfast and unbreakable will of the Men, Women and Children occupying Fort Henry that fateful night. To hear of the clear realization that they knew they were in harms way, yet they endured, deciding not to lower the "Stars and Stripes".. They knew that the flag, that symbolic token of independence, freedom and caring for our fellow countrymen was THE symbol that meant so much more. To hear of the willingness of those who gave their last to ensure that the spirit and commitment to freedom and justice saw the light of a new day.. That even unto their departure from this mortal existence, they were willing to right that damaged flag pole, hang the colors high for all to see insomuch as their bodies provided that last support at the "dawns early light".
They ALL gave their best so that one day, THIS DAY, we could all take our place in line of service to our fellow brothers, sisters, friends, enemies, and EVERYONE IN NEED. Not to Judge the Nature or Validity of what we see. But rather to simply look ourselves and those around us in the eye, declaring in one voice with a firm and steadfast resolve as in the days of old, "I am ready, I will do my part, whatever that may be, to prepare and provide for the light and the truth at hand. To aid in its disclosure for the betterment of Humanity! I will speak no ill of another and will forgive if someone speaketh ill of me." WE CAN have an impact. WE WILL have an impact and I again make my commitment to you to do my part, for God, Country and Family. This is our time to re affirm that same sentiment shared by George Washington; the quality that sets apart the American Christian from all other peoples is that they would rather die on their feet, than live on their knees.... That phrase has a sacred power that even to this day should resonate to the very core of your being as it does mine! Now we must help our brothers and sisters know that we all will LIVE on our feet, and any time on our knees will be voluntarily spent there, in humble prayer and thanks, for the chance to be who we are, where we are, and when we are!
While we are all not Americans, or perhaps Christians, The ideals and freedoms we all desire are similar and we ARE ALL inhabitants of a world needing support, from every person, light worker, Deity, being of light, and possible force for good to guide us to our cause and destination.
Please take this pledge with me committing to uphold our end:
Positivity, alone will be my message!
My gratitude and appreciation for those who have brought this opportunity to pass will never subside!
I will feed those whose hunger, quench the thirst of those in need, shelter those who have none, comforting and supporting those who i meet, protecting all of the beauty in this world and do so with humility in my heart!
All else will be swept aside.
