There are three possibilities with Bix Weir regarding the GCR.
A. He doesn't know about it. In which case, he wouldn't mention it. This is possible because his slant on what is going on is based on his Road To Roota Theory. Bix came up with Road to Roota long before most people even heard about the GCR. Road to Roota is based on a cabal plot to go to a gold standard following a massive financial crash which is imminent. (Note to Ya-Yo. Notice the correct spelling of Imminent...D'oh If you actually mean to say the other, Immanent, then you are using the wrong word.)
Bix derived Road to Roota from Greenspan writings, the fed boom/bust cycle and financial trends. It is quite insightful. He does as people often do, dismiss things that tend to damage or make little of his theory.
B. He knows about GCR, but dismisses it. See above.
C. He knows about GCR, has invested in currencies and for some reason does not discuss it in his writings. Not likely. See Above.
I've read Bix for a long time and he does not strike me as someone who would hide this information for personal gain or some other hypocritical reason. I do suspect he at least knows about the GCR. I initially made contact with Bix because some toothless crack head types from cmkx made contact. Bix was so astounded by their lunacy that he mentioned as much on his blog. So, I dropped him a line just to let him know that there were actually literate, thinking human beings involved in CMKX and why. We had a pleasant short conversation by email. As far as I know, neither of us changed our minds about anything.
Bix is a smart guy. Do not dismiss him entirely, just because you do not agree with him. I've learned a lot from Bix, over the years. I pay attention to him, because his theory is entirely plausible. He certainly backs up his conjecture with a lot more fact, words in print and other research to give him credibility.
Certainly in my view, a lot more credibility than Most if not all GCR intel folk. From which we receive almost nothing but conjecture and WAT. (wild ass theories) In fact, the only reason I still believe in the GCR is because of Al Hodges. A Practicing Attorney who took the CMKX Bivens case to the US Supreme Court. In my view, ACH has a lot more credibility than all the dinar / gcr gurus put together. He would not have put his credibility or his money on the line for something he wasn't convinced was real.
Good enough for me.
Brigantine.
