As soon as I took office the County was advised by New York State that we had to address our court house situation. While the State wanted a new court house constructed, the Legislature found a more economical way to satisfy the mandate by building an addition onto the existing facility. There have been upgrades made to emergency communications and the introduction of a countywide high speed broadband project, both largely funded with grant money. We have made cost savings decisions and adjustments regarding the various types of insurance policies and plans the County holds. Financially, the county is in much better place than it was 12 years ago but there is still work to be done. I feel it is time for another civic minded individual to lend their talents to managing the operations of County government.
I have enjoyed working with fellow legislators, County department heads and employees. It has been an honor serving the residents of Andover and Wellsville for the past 12 years.
