[alerte.actions] RAPPEL: Les Water Protectors sont là et ont envie de vous rencontrer VENDREDI et/ou samedi

Bonjour à tou.te.s,

Vous devez être nombreu.x.ses à avoir envie de vous reposer... et pourtant, on a encore quelques petites surprises de fin de semaine!

Comme annoncé dans le mail précédent, les protecteurs de l'eau de Standing Rock et alliés sont à Bruxelles.

Ils ont déjà rencontré Paris Match et Metro mais ... Ils ont assisté à une partie de l'action Stop NATO et ont envie de rencontrer tous ces activistes qu'ils ont vu à l'oeuvre. N'hésitez donc pas à nous rejoindre à 18h (vendredi, aujourd'hui!) pour une rencontre informelle avec eux à la Zinneke (Place Masui)!

Cette rencontre est organisée pour pouvoir partager nos expériences et voir comment on peut construire des ponts.

Rachel Heaton, Nataanii Means, Wašté Win Young et Rafael Gonzales sont venus porter la voix des défenseurs de l’eau (water protectors) qui luttent contre l’oléoduc DAPL (Dakota Access Pipeline) et d'autres projets qui menacent leurs territoires. Leur passage en Europe sera l’occasion de demander le désinvestissement des banques européennes des différents projets climaticides et bafouant le droit des peuples autochtones en cours sur la Turtle Island et de montrer une fois de plus l’opposition ferme des peuples aux politiques climaticides de Trump.

 

Ils seront à Bruxelles du 24 au 28 mai!

Hi all,

 

You might have heard of it: Stand Up With Standing Rock is a european Solidarity tour with the Water Protectors of the Turtle Island (North America) that has been organised by our French friends. 

 

Rachel Heaton, Nataanii Means, Wašté Win Young and Rafael Gonzales, activists of the Standing Rock movement, will carry the voices of the water protectors to various parts of Europe. Their passage through Europe will be the occasion to demand that european banks divest from an array of projects which are devastating for the climate and violate the First Nations Rights on the Turtle Island (North America); and to manifest once again the european peoples’ firm opposition to Trump’s criminal climate policies.

They will be in Brussels from May 24 to 28!

Friday 26 - 6pm @ Zinneke:

Informal get together with the four water protectors

Self-organised gathering: bring your drinks - alcohol-free preferred - and your food. We'll take care of the rest of it.
!! The Zinneke will need to be empty and tidy at 10pm

 

Saturday 27 - 3pm @ ULB (room DC2.206)

Debate with

Rachel Heaton, Nataanii Means, Wašté Win Young and Rafael Gonzales will share their experiences and tell us more about their struggle in Standing Rock and other places on the Turtle Island (North America).

Mathias Balcaen will be there to tell us more about the divestment campaigns in Belgium
Damien Charles (ReSAP -Réseau de soutien à l’agriculture paysanne) will share more on the struggle for farming lands in Belgium.

 

The discussion will be moderated by Omar Jabary Salamanca (researcher at Ghent University and activist. His research focuses on the contested histories and geographies of infrastructure development, particularly in Palestine)
