I made the jeans using Vogue 8774 but I drew the side pocket pattern myself. It's hard to see from these pics, but they are leopard printed.
I've recently seen nice denim jeans with big side pockets at a clothes shop. I was inspired by them and sewed my jeans while my memory was fresh.

I cut view A of Vogue 8774. I thought it's a skinny jeans pattern but fitted straight rather than skinny.
I cut the fabric one size smaller than my measurements called for, because I used stretch denim. Besides cutting for one size smaller, I took about an inch out of each leg. I think this pattern is shorter than others. I usually shorten the length of pants but I didn't change it this time.
I attached the leather on the back and five jeans rivets (side pockets and a coin pocket). I love them because these colours suit the jeans. I made these side pockets instead of the front and back pockets. I am worried about my back when I wear jeans. However, these big pockets hide that area.
↓How to make the side pocket: I used the piece three (pocket facing) from Vogue 8774.

Copy trace over, cut it symmetrically.
Divide into two parts. Cut and open by an inch. Set the part on the other sheet with tape.
Press and attach a stay tape to these pocket openings. -Finish!
Unfortunately, Vogue 8774 is out of print but you can use the side pocket pattern to other jeans.
I am happy that I got new jeans before the hot weather arrives. I'll wear them a lot! My husband isn't interested in women's fashion but he was impressed by them. I will make them again in a white denim but with bigger pockets.
I am so glad that my favourite blog "secondo piano" has featured my blog. You can check many blogger's works and fashion all over the world. Please see here. Thank you, Sasha!
