"Outsourcing HR"
Islandwave8 a great Question of what to look for in a PEO?
The States of Texas and Florida were where the first PEO's in the industry were located in 1984 when the industry first began. All PEO's have to be certified/licensed by the state they are located in......again, regulation.
I would search for a PEO that has been in business for at least 10 years.
Certainly references from them and their clients.
Interview them in accordance to their services. Have them fully explain all of their services. The model should customize the benefits for your employees
Example....... while we have employee and employer taxes now, we will not under GESARA.
Your premiums for insurance is certainly a hot item as well as taxes until no longer necessary. Understand their Health Insurance details and whether you feel it is a great plan for the premium to be paid.
Ask them what documentation will you receive to be sure all taxes and premiums are paid.
Whenever your payroll is done the PEO would also calculate your premiums and fees to them for the service to be paid.
Having employees is a huge responsibility and outsourcing this item is a plus as you can see by just a few of the regulations that have to be met. Then there could be issues with an employee and your HR Manager from the PEO will take care of that along with someone from your company and/or an attorney the PEO also has on staff if it is something legal. The PEO has shared liability with your employees and that is definitely a plus !!
I hope this helps and good luck.
God Bless.
