Pink pink pink! Everywhere I look is pink! It's becoming cherry blossom season in Japan. A looooot of petals are stuck to the soles of my shoes. Are you enjoying the spring?
I wanted to make a jumper dress and was interested in "Cleo, Dungaree Dress" but I made the dress from Burda style magazine October 2016. (You can download here)
Is this an apron? No! I made the Jumper dress with a shiny striped denim. I usually choose a size 36 of burda patterns, but I thought this pattern was lager than others. I sewed a zipper down the back, but I could wear this dress without it. I added to the pattern's original length by 7 7/8 inches.
To be honest, I didn't like the dress at first because it looked like an apron. It wasn't flattering on me and its design was TOO YOUNG💀 Fortunately, I like the front top design, so I decided to change the Jumper dress to overalls.
First, I took away the parts of the front and back skirt (avoided the back zipper), so I adjusted and cut the pants parts of Vogue 8499.
I sewed on the pants parts instead of the skirt. If you would like to make an overalls version, it's easy to make it using a center seam pants pattern like Vogue 8499.
I sewed the eight decorative buttons on the front bodice. The jumper skirt turned into fantastic overalls! I would like to make full length overalls using brown linen with white buttons for summer. What do you think?
I was going to throw the jumper skirt away but I could save it. Feeling lucky! Someday, I would like to make a jumper skirt again.
I hope you are enjoying the spring😊 Thank you!
