In the NLs there was a visit of a Takforce from Sierra Leone in the last
week of oct. 2016. Shady business here. Contact is wanted with victims.
56 undocumennted Sierra Leonese in the NLs were presented to the task
force. Nothing was said during these visits in The Hague about Laissez
Passers, but 56 LP’s were issued with 2nd of feb. 2017 as expiring date.
These PL’s do look odd: signed and stamped by the Taskforce leader without
a picture of the concerned migrants. Then – as it looks to social workers
of the House of Hope Rotterdam – it was given to the dutch Immigration
office who filled in details and put a picture from their file on the
stamp. Then these LP’s were given to the representatives of the
Sierraleoneses.
6 of the 56 confronted the Sierraleonese consul at the Brussel embassy
with the LP’s who absolutely denied to be informed about the issue of
these PL’s. A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in an
interview that there was no permission from the task force leaders to
issue LP’s for the 56 people. There are sound recordings of all the visits
in The Hague. Sierraleonese associationns in the Nls asked the parliament
ot look at these cases.
Three of the 56 were detained. One of them was arrested when leaving his
lawyer’s office. He was deported with the LP passed the expiring date. In
Sierra Leone he was detained and after a short while sent back to the NLs
because of an non-valid LP. Back in the NLs he was set free.
One of the lawyers is preparing a complaint against the dutch immigration
office and looks for other Sierraleonese that were given a ‘false’ LP.
