"Tonight's Word: I've Heard It Both Ways" - Heisenberg - 3.24.17

Things have come to a pretty pass
Our romance is growing flat,
For you like this and the other
While I go for this and that,

Goodness knows what the end will be

Oh I don't know where I'm at
It looks as if we two will never be one
Something must be done:

You say either and I say either,

You say neither and I say neither
Either, either Neither, neither
Let's call the whole thing off.

You like potato and I like potahto

You like tomato and I like tomahto
Potato, potahto, Tomato, tomahto.
Let's call the whole thing off

But oh, if we call the whole thing off

Then we must part
And oh, if we ever part, then that might break my heart -Let's Call the Whole Thing Off

And that brings us to tonight's word: I'VE HEARD IT BOTH WAYS

I agree with Angel Gee. This one at first reading was a little whack. But after the third or fourth time I think I got the gist of it. And it's not a bad thing...slow me to give one perspective.

There was once a boy named Shawn Spencer who was raised by his single-parent policeman father. His father, in the hopes that he would someday be a crack detective, taught his son Shawn to be hyper-vigilant and ultra aware of all of his surroundings. Shawn's life was a constant test of such things like "close your eyes and tell me 100 things that are in the room" type stuff. But he knew how to beat a lie detector so there was that.

Well long story short, it worked. Only lazy Shawn did not become a detective but used his ability to cash in on tip lines to solve cases. So the cops thought he was in on the jobs and he had to convince them he was a psychic. Let the hi-jinks ensue. One of his favorite lines, when proven wrong, was "I've heard it both ways". Thus allowing him to appear smart when he's found to be obviously wrong. This is the premise for a very entertaining show called Psych.

So let's circle back to Angel gee's post which if I sum it up (and I agree) would be : HUHH ??? Como que what? And was that Eminem in a pink kangaroo hat? Although I really doubt Mr. Slim Shady would dress in pink. Not very Detroit. Bangers have died for less.

Where's the world peace post? Where's the world love update? We were promised world peace! We even saw BiBi and Xi shake hands. (note the note)

So what happened? Well, this happened yesterday:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/isis-london-attack-westminster-terror-responsibility-latest-islamic-state-daesh-a7645696.html

Typical Cabal stuff right? Yosef said they operate from a beginning point of chaos and violence and negotiate from there. So this act of violence yesterday, what did it do? Anyone who's paying attention knows exactly what it was. Something about 3/22. Maybe it gave the bad guys a little adrenaline. Maybe it gave the bad guys a chubby. Maybe it took them back to the glory days where they can create an act of violence such as this and their problems would be solved. Ahhh 911. The glory days. That bought them some time. All their problems were solved (for a while) because dem sheeple would take the bait and get all distracted up in here. Or the military would start to send troops here and there and everywhere keeping public consciousness offkilter. Start the spin machine. Call the talking heads. Call the Kardashians. Call Kanye West....he's always up for saying something stupid and hogging the headlines. Pokemon go?

Was that what happened? The bad guys got a sense that, "Hey, we may have given up too early. This worked before, it can work again. We're not surrounded. All is not hopeless. All is not lost." A little blood spilling is just the thing to rally the troops.

Maybe from that bombing yesterday it got a little adrenaline pumping. Like a snake that's been wounded, it gave it a little strength to lash out hoping it can get close enough to get its fangs into something. And like an elephant, they remember all the times it worked before hook, line and sinker. Maybe.… Maybe not.

So is world peace indeed before our eyes like we were told and we feel in our guts? Or is world peace just a matter of waiting until the snake realizes it's still wounded and still surrounded as the adrenaline is starting to wear off? I've heard it both ways.

And that's the werd

"Glory Days"

I had a friend was a big baseball player, Back in high school
He could throw that speedball by you
Make you look like a fool boy
Saw him the other night at this roadside bar
I was walking in, he was walking out
We went back inside sat down had a few drinks
But all he kept talking about was
Glory days, well, they'll pass you by
Glory days, in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days
Well there's a girl that lives up the block
Back in school she could turn all the boy's heads
Sometimes on a Friday I'll stop by
And have a few drinks after she put her kids to bed
Her and her husband Bobby well they split up
I guess it's two years gone by now
We just sit around talking about the old times,
She says when she feels like crying
She starts laughing thinking about
Glory days, well, they'll pass you by
Glory days, in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days
My old man worked twenty years on the line
And they let him go
Now everywhere he goes out looking for work
They just tell him that he's too old
I was nine years old and he was working at the
Metuchen Ford plant assembly line
Now he just sits on a stool down at the Legion hall
But I can tell what's on his mind
Glory days yeah goin back
Glory days aw he ain't never had
Glory days, glory days
Now I think I'm going down to the well tonight
And I'm going to drink till I get my fill
And I hope when I get old I don't sit around thinking about it
But I probably will
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture
A little of the glory of, well time slips away
And leaves you with nothing mister but
Boring stories of glory days
Glory days, well, they'll pass you by
Glory days, in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days
Glory days, well, they'll pass you by
Glory days, in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days
