Justice for Gustavito, the Hippo Brutally Attacked While He Slept.

Dear friends, The National Zoo of El Salvador is a refuge to more than 600 animals. It is an oasis in the heart of the city where both young and old can get away and connect with some of the other living creatures that roam our planet. But last week this oasis turned into a nightmare when zoo authorities learned that one of its most beloved animals had been brutally and senselessly beaten. A few days later, he was dead. Now, your voice is needed to speak out for justice. Even in one of the world's most violent cities, news of Gustavito the hippo's beating death has left people shocked both within El Salvador and around the world. Gustavito died a cruel and tragic death. Authorities are not 100% sure of what happened but they believe the attack occurred at night, most likely when Gustavito was asleep. They believe the assailants used instruments such as ice picks, knives and rocks to violently attack this defenseless 14-year-old zoo favorite. And by the time officials finally realized he wasn't well, he was already close to death. Thank you,
