Sergei A. Ostroumov asked a question in Water Quality:
3Who wants to join me as coauthor in my new publication on positive role of organisms in maintaining or improving water quality?
This is an update to Project on ResearchGate, titled: Making water ... more safe...:
https://www.researchgate.net/project/Making-water-supply-sources-more-safe-and-sustainable?updateId=58c196fa82999cd4be0dc4bd;
I want to prepare a short but important publication that would underline the role of biological factors and biological organisms in forming and maintaining water quality.
I expect there will be a number of international co-authors from U.S., Germany, China, Netherlands, and perhaps other countries as well.
Do anybody want to cooperate and if you have a strong interest, I will consider you as a prospective member of the team of co-authors?
To be eligible to be considered , you are expected to show that your have publications that are in tune with the main idea of the future publication:
That organisms contribute to improving water quality.
My publications proved, demonstrated, exemplified, elaborated this idea and fundamental concept.
Selected examples of my publications are here:

On Some Issues of Maintaining Water Quality and Self-Purification; https://www.researchgate.net/publication/215586879;
I address all researchers who want to professionally support this concept of biological organisms as factors to maintaining and improving water quality.
If you wish, consider joining me toward this new publication.
I do not promise that I immediately include you as a co-author, but it will be a beginning of a road that finally may lead to your becoming a co-author, perhaps after some period of your helping me.
If I decide that it is too early that some researcher can be a co-author now, I will invite this researcher to volunteer their help online, which will increase the probability that this researcher will become a co-author in future.
Good luck and best wishes.

Sergei A. Ostroumov asked a question in Aquatic Ecosystems:
3Are there synonyms to the scientific term 'water self-purification', and which differences between these synonyms are important?
Some of my publications are on water self-purification. However, I have a feeling that this term, 'water self-purification', is not very well understandable by the Western scientific audience or English-speaking audience. Or am I wrong? I would be happy to hear opinions of those colleagues who are involved in water quality and issues of deterioration of water quality, aquatic pollution and aquatic toxicology. I want to understand the perception of this term and perhaps of some similar terms or synonyms.

OpenWho wants to join me with my environmental science projects on ResearchGate and to become collaborators on these projects?
I started 6 projects. All are welcome to join me. All nationals are welcome. One of expected jobs (volunteers, no pay) is to look at my updates and write a short comment in any language and/or English, just 3-5 words. E.g., you can take 3-5 keywords from my update or the project and translate them into your mother language. If you can do so 1-2-3 times a week on regular basis, I would consider inviting you as a collaborator on this project. Your personal profile will become stronger and more visible.

He delivered a series of interesting lectures and published a brilliant book with his fresh ideas on the role of flows of entropy in life of organisms. However do all the facts we know support his opinions?
**
Erwin Schrödinger (1944), "What Is Life? : The Physical Aspect of the Living Cell".
On his book, Wikipedia:
What Is Life? is a 1944 non-fiction science book written for the lay reader by physicist Erwin Schrödinger. The book was based on a course of public lectures delivered by Schrödinger in February 1943, under the auspices of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies at Trinity College, Dublin. The lectures attracted an audience of about 400, who were warned "that the subject-matter was a difficult one and that the lectures could not be termed popular, even though the physicist’s most dreaded weapon, mathematical deduction, would hardly be utilized."[1] Schrödinger's lecture focused on one important question: "how can the events in space and time which take place within the spatial boundary of a living organism be accounted for by physics and chemistry?"[1]

Sergei A. Ostroumov asked a question in Marine Ecology:
5Do you agree that almost all aquatic biodiversity is involved to maintaining water quality in water bodies and streams?
Traditionally it was a dogma that mainly aquatic heterotrophic bacteria are the main factor of water self-purification. By contrast, some recent papers proposed the theory that almost all biodiversity is involved. Examples of these papers: http://ru.scribd.com/doc/52627327/;
