Dunes Day

Hello Family and Friends,

Friday was one of the first days us girls did not have to wear a malfa OR a head scarf, so we were pretty pumped about that. We woke up after yet another late night and had breakfast at our host's house and then left Smara for Boujdour to visit a great friend. Meeting him and having him share some of his stories was amazing.  We encouraged him and talked with him for a couple hours and then headed back to Smara to our host family and had lunch there   After lunch is when the party began. First, our host mother paired up guys and girls to dance. Then she took the stage herself in her malfa.  Us girls decided to come out in our malfas and surprise her... and Dav too.   Then we went to the dunes with the Not Forgotten folks and had an amazing time. We slid/rolled/fell/broke our cameras/broke our sunglasses down the dunes, saw 2 camels (about a mile away), saw an old coral reef, took some awesome photos, and to top it off had camel kabobs. Then we went back and relaxed with our host family. The girls (with the exception of Olivia) got henna on their hands and we talked with our hosts until dinner. Once again we stayed up super late talking with our host father who shared about his story and his experiences in the past. His past is so powerful and encouraging.

Once again, thank you for keeping us in your thoughts!
