Case remains open for Wellsville man accused of sex crimes

State Police Investigator Tom Khork says the case against Peter L. Shoughrue, 43, of Wellsville remains open and an active investigation. The former Wellsville school teacher is accused of luring a young girl to a Steuben County location for a sexual rendezvous. Shoughrue has taught English in several Allegany County schools and beyond. Investigator Khork says if anyone believes they were a potential victim, they should contact state police at Bath at 607-776-6866. We reached out to the Wellsville school district where Shoughrue was once employed, but not comments were immediately available.
