In Minneapolis, MN, on February 25th, 2017, fascists attempted to hold a "White Lives
Matter" rally at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. An anti-fascist coalition exposed them
and prevented them from organizing, facing fascist violence in retribution. Anti-fascists
were unharmed in the scuffle. ---- After being exposed and confronted on Saturday, MN
Identity Evropa is recruiting in South Minneapolis against immigrants. ---- On February
25, a coalition of local community members, anti-fascists, anarchists, and other
anti-capitalists marched to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to defend our communities
against fascism. A rally outside was organized by the Twin Cities General Defense
Committee (G.D.C.) and drew approximately 50 people. The anti-fascist demonstrators held a
banner announcing class solidarity across borders ("Una clase, una lucha - contra
fronteras!") and chanted. The intention was to alert and educate the public about the
present threat of fascists organizing in Minnesota and beyond. Inside the museum, other
anti-fascists confronted the fascists themselves with the intent to prevent them from
organizing.

The fascist demonstrators at the museum intending to have a photo op in front of a "White
Lives Matter" banner came from a number of different fascist tendencies. In attendance was
Identity Evropa: a fascist group composed of a "generation of awakened Europeans" of
"non-semitic" heritage. Like many other high-brow white nationalists, they try to bury
their ideology behind terms like "cultural biodiversity" and "european heritage". Other
fascists at the rally included those affiliated with the fascist website, The Daily
Stormer, as well as nazi pagans. Anti-fascist protesters outside were greeted by such
actions as a nazi salute accompanied by a shout of "Heil Trump", and an attempted assault.
Inside, a man with a nazi flag shirt carrying a large folding knife started a physical
brawl with the anti-fascists when they questioned him about his shirt. The man was
confronted and disarmed by the anti-fascists.

When fascism is allowed to go unchallenged in our communities and our cities, we give
hatred a space to organize. Fascism is not interested in a free exchange of ideas. Fascism
is an ideology built upon "purifying" violence which intends to wipe out its opponents at
any cost. Let us not forget the nation-wide bomb threats to Jewish community centers and
synagogues last week, as felt in St. Paul. Let us not forget the fascist propaganda such
as swastikas being normalized, as seen at the University of Minnesota. Let us never forget
the true nature of fascism when violence against marginalized groups is on the rise. We
are workers and marginalized people, and we will defend ourselves. The working class
cannot ignore fascism and its new entry points like so called "Men's Rights Activists" if
we desire emancipation. There can be no space to organize genocide - no platform for
fascism. Whenever fascists attempt to organize, we will confront them.

The Struggle of "Right To Vote"

America, is the ideas that promoted this political demand. "Right to vote" campaigns aimed
primarily to empower women inside traditional institution of marriage. And contrary to
what one might guess, this movement was mainly middle class and conservative.
During the period when the campaigns were at their peak, conservative movements like
American Temperance Society, Purity League, who thought they would get rid of social
exorbitance by giving woman the right to vote. In other words, the aim was to "better
preserve the social values" and "social purity" by giving woman the right to vote. The
"woman" that is promoted here for the right to vote, was promoted through maternity inside
the traditional social structure.
On the other hand, the right to vote were also supported by people who thought woman must
be free from the oppression of the church and home. However, what made the movement grow
and gain widespread support was the fact that the right to vote supporters wanted to vote

In a political environment like this, the discussion of "right to vote" becomes even more
important. According to Emma Goldman, the right to vote campaigns distracted from the real

propaganda, is "equal political subject", is a big lie. Expecting a positive and result
oriented change from a political mechanism identified with patriarchal system, is not
realistic.
Patriarchy is one the basic constitutive dynamics in the political-social-economical
mechanisms that we live in, and it is shaping society to full extent. Opposing this form
of power is only possible through a struggle in entirety. Moves like referendum or
election in order to be decisive over the organization of economical and political
structure and the state mechanism, cannot create lasting solutions. Freedom of woman will
not be realized by temporary measures taken by joining politics with state.
If the woman struggle is targeting a definite relation of domination and power, how can we
talk about a political subject when the structures constructed by this relation of power
are used? If patriarchy is one of the constitutive dynamics of this system, then opposing
this form of relation is only possible through a politics in entirety.
When doing its politics, woman struggle will not try to make politics "in behalf of"
women. The aim is to politicize and organize woman. It is not to use mechanisms that women
will relinquish their volition.
The idea that people need to have equal opportunity is based on liberal political
philosophy. It is this idea that suggests the need to change legislation prohibiting equal
access of women to education, jobs and parliament. This, in fact, is nothing but aiming to
compete inside the existing system. Thinking that woman and man will ever become equal in
this mechanism, is baseless.
This fact is especially proven by the Western liberal democracies. "Gains" in the field of
law, voting and employment neither changed the fact that the women are oppressed, nor they
caused any improvements in this regard. If the key issue is the institutionalized social
gender, the issue is not resolved until these institutions are abolished, it will only be
made invisible.
What Are The Women Expecting From Referendum?
Women organizations have already started campaigning for the referendum. As do the
majority of social opposition... Then, what are the women expecting from the referendum?
They are expecting to put an end to the omission of woman, harassment, rape, violence,
war, massacres, extortion of all rights gained by women workers who are working for
minimum wage and putting up union struggle, loss of all rights gained by women, depending
lives and future of women to one person, the presidential system. But none of these
expectations will end with a yes or no. None of these issues are the type of issues that
can be resolved in the time frame of a referendum. Likewise, it will not be possible to
prevent deepening of the existing issues by saying yes or no. The reason is that, in fact,
state requires authority, hierarchy, domination, injustice and inequality. This is exactly
the delusion that will be possessed by women organizations that squeeze upcoming
International Women's Day and even March 8 which is symbolized by the struggle, solidarity
and organizedness of women, into "no" discourse in the current agenda of referendum.
It's evident that woman freedom struggle will not benefit from this delusion. On the
contrary, woman who thinks that she came closer to control, that she has an effect, will
move away from daily realities. The delusion that she is getting rid of injustice,
incarceration, poverty and deprivation that she is living, will cause her to feel
confidence in the existing system because it's "democratic". The loss of this confidence
is inevitable, even when the state has its most liberal and democratic image, when it's
shaken in no time by the state authority, domination and patriarchal structure.
Our volition, desire for a just and free world without gender, cannot be provided by
mechanisms like elections or referendums. Our freedom and independence can only be
realized by ourselves, as comrade Emma Goldman emphasized. "First, by asserting herself as

communities, reproduced in the streets, in social relations and within oneself. ---- But
there are more elements within this scheme, there is another violence in the media,
misinforming what happens daily; then we find a selective violence that is based on
criminalization by institutions and bad governments, condemning innocent people through
their laws, imputing them fabricated crimes and blaming them as violent people, precisely
because those bad governments - in their own myth- are placed as the only guardians of
order and life.
What happens then with those who realize that it is not like that? Mateo Gutiérrez León is
a committed and critical student of the 5th semester of the career of sociology at the
National University of Colombia -Bogota-, an excellent companion, son, friend and an
active and solidary mind in different national circumstances that considers unfair and
product of that social manipulation.
Today he is the victim of a false judicial verdict. The Colombian State - in the voice and
act of the Minister of Defense, Luis Carlos Villegas and the Colombian Prosecutor's Office
- declares him guilty of placing a "pamphlet bomb" on September 18, 2015 in the city of
Bogota, a fictitious fact that has been refuted by his own parents and his people nearby,
since Mateo was in a trip outside the country along with his mother Arecely Leon.
Similarly, his father Omar Gutiérrez, mentions that it is perfectly probable that the
prosecution is looking for a ‘scapegoat' because of its inability to find those
responsible for the wave of insecurity in Bogotá. Mateo is considered guilty because he
belongs to a "university of revoltosos"; Because he has visited Cuba and other Latin
American countries "lands of the devil socialism"; In addition to changing his look
constantly and painting his hair.
These are arguments from the mass media and the powers of attorney, not a joke! This is
the selective violence that we have to stop once and for all, because it seems that the
worst crime that a student can do is occupy his knowledge for the benefit of society.
Recently in Mexico, three hñáhñú indigenous women - Teresa González Cornelio, Jacinta
Francisco Marcial and Alberta Alcántara Juan - were imprisoned for allegedly subjecting
and abducting six ‘defenseless' agents from the extinct Federal Investigative Agency. They
spent little more than 3 years to get their freedom. Now, one of the phrases they leave us
says: "until dignity becomes habit." With this powerful call to dignity, we express our
solidarity and demand the immediate and unconditional release of Mateo Gutiérrez.
We embrace his peers in the UNAL, his family and all the friends who weave networks of
empathy and solidarity to achieve his release. We also embrace the resistance of
indigenous peoples in the North Cauca for the liberation of Mother Earth, Putumayo in
defense of natural resources against fracking, students of the University of Valle in Cali
against the privatization of education, the agrarian struggles in Arauca and La Guajira,
as well as the multiple student and popular processes in the big cities that fight for
peace and against the advance of paramilitarism in the most unprotected communities.
In the words of his friends: "Mateo is characterized by a huge smile in good times and
bad, joy is one of his greatest weapons."

Wednesday 8/3 interventions made by the Group Against Patriarchy - RES in Athens, Patras,
Thessaloniki on the occasion of "Women's Day". Behind them convenient for dominance myths,
distorting the case of female emancipation presenting it as a demand of "equality" in

Despite the Japanese Government's denials, the number of cancers detected in the

But when the motion was tabled in October 2016, all the nuclear countries and their
diplomatic satellites (38 states in all) voted against ...
Incompetence and duplicity
But it is not just disaster management that is a problem. Nuclear power is so oversized

plants, as evidenced by the episode of defects in the EPR tank.
