Taiwan’s 30 year fight

Dear Luc,
Our fight for marriage equality has been going on for 30 years. And now, with your help, Taiwan could become the first country in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage.
My name is Wayne Lin and I'm reaching out with a special request from the front lines.
Taiwan’s Parliament could vote on marriage equality soon. But there’s a huge anti-equality movement taking over. In many parts of the country, some people have never seen honest depictions of happy and loving same-sex couples.
That’s why my colleagues at the Taiwan Tongzhi (LGBT) Hotline Association created a video ad, featuring the moving testimony of the father of a lesbian daughter.
His story can change hearts and minds across the country. But we need your help to spread the word.
If 617 more people chip in, we’ll have enough funds to power an aggressive media campaign, promoting our video to people in far-reaches of the country.
Help Taiwan make history
The Taiwan Tongzhi Hotline Association is the largest LGBT organisation in the country. We help LGBT people who may not have any other place to turn to. And now, we’ve joined with other organisations in the country to lead the fight for marriage equality.
While Taiwan is one of the most LGBT-friendly countries in Asia, we’re still viewed as second-class citizens. Our former Vice President said marriage equality would "disrupt the lives of the majority and an ethical order that has been in place for centuries."
We’re setting out to counter these hateful lies. With your help, we can show people what equal marriage is really about: love and family.
All Out is helping us raise the $12,000 USD we need to launch our massive media campaign by reaching out to people like you, Luc. We may only have a few weeks until the vote comes, so we need to raise this money before the end of this month!
Thanks for going All Out,
Wayne Lin
