When did it become necessary to only share positive info with superiors? This might have been the start of the downfall of our country. Showing respect to those in position above you means sharing only positive details about what's going on around you today. I call it a contagion and a hidden corruption.
My first job was way back in 1980. Being "political" was expected even then so it had to be earlier than that. I started my professional career with a Fortune 100 Corporation. My first week in this job I was given the great fun gift of participating in a major trade show in Atlantic City. Back in those days the magnificent Playboy Club Hotel was right on the Atlantic Ocean. I had a room with a view of the sun rising out of the ocean and this was truly magical. To a young, fresh-faced graduate it was incredible. My first job, my first trade show and my first stay in a suite in a luxury hotel. Could life be any sweeter? I was nervous and anxious to please my new company and being one of the first woman in "a man's world" I was doubly challenged. Unfortunately (for me), the week turned into a party with very little business being conducted. How great was that? My new job was actually no challenge at all. I could party with the best of them.
My disappointment was because I was basically left to fend for myself. Any opportunity for learning from "superiors" was quashed because we were there to party and have fun so I had to get with the program fast. When I asked for some guidance I was told, "Don't make waves." "Nobody likes a troublemaker." "Just smile and act like everything is great and you'll do real well."
I'm all for framing our words artfully, for being kind and gracious. I'm also all for being helpful and supporting our "superiors". Who does it help when we are disingenuous? No one. And in my humble opinion it is a slow, insidious corruption that weakens the whole machine you're building. It detracts from the skills that other wise contributors might bring and makes balance impossible.
Our government is the epitome of a "political" slap happy bunch. Who in this bunch is telling the Truth, ever? Can we believe anything any of them says? Now Donald J. Trump steps into the political arena. Why would we assume he's hearing any "truths"? He's part of the corporate culture where only good news gets through, right? Wrong. He's got a different twist. He wants opinions on issues and he expects solutions as well.
Today, in 2017 we have a New Direction. It's called TELL ME YOUR TRUTH and THEN TELL ME YOUR IDEAS FOR CORRECTION. It's called, Let's Be Creative! It's about inviting CHANGE THROUGH TRANSPARENCY.
To all "authorities" that may be reading this editorial piece please consider the merit of transparency. We currency holders are the most creative, inventive, wise people on the planet. We are fine-honed through shared experience and some have even been on the front lines involved in global banking. We are ready to make our mark. We are ready to lead The American Way. Pedal-to-the-Medal! THROW THAT SWITCH! We'll deal with the fallout handily, artfully, quickly, creatively. WE HAVE GOT THIS!!!!!
The world supports this global reset and waits for US to make the move. We wait on the NPTB to demonstrate its Faith in US and that Faith in not misplaced. We're ready to be positive while correcting false lies being told as in that old slap happy dance. Let's get it on!!!!!
