The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) is showcasing its fixed-wing transport capabilities at the Avalon Airshow, with all its aircraft types featuring in both the flying and static displays at this year's event.
The service's three primary airlifters - the Alenia Aermacchi C-27J Spartan, the Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 Hercules, and the Boeing C-17A Globemaster III - will feature at the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace and Defence Exposition 2017 running in Geelong from 28 February to 5 March, as will the Airbus Defence and Space KC-30 MultiRole Tanker Transport (MRTT).
These platforms provide the gamut of the RAAF's recently recapitalised airlift capabilities, ranging from the tactical C-27J (11 tonnes) to the medium C-130J-30 (22 tonnes) to the strategic C-17A (77 tonnes).
