A judge in Pakistan has ruled on Valentine's Day,putting a ban on celebrating the Christian holiday Monday. A city-wide blackout on all V-Day promotions was also enforced.
Court petitioner, Abdul Waheed had said that it violated Islamic teachings.He said that instead of love, it promoted �immorality, nudity and indecency,� according to newspaper Dawn.
The Islamabad court agreed, prohibiting any official or public events celebrating Valentine�s Day in addition to its media ban.
Last year Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain told his countrymen to stick to their studies and avoid indulging in a date that had �no connection� to their culture.
