Bodies of dozens of people wash ashore in western Libya

f you follow the links you will see that this is a terrible crime committed on Europe's border , the official version of events blames smugglers but its not self evident what really happened reading the different reports , what is for sure is that Europe is entrusting their border control to very dangerous people who have no respect for migrant's  human rights

the article makes reference to the  EU backed Italy -Libya deal
"This month the EU backed an agreement between Italy and Libya to stem the arrival of migrants to Europe, which prompted condemnation by human rights groups.
Under the agreement, the UN-backed Libyan government would receive £171m as well as training for the country’s coastguard in exchange for better policing the outflow of migrants from Libya,"

as mentioned on the EU websute they have press officers in case people would like to make their feelings known
Ester Arauzo-Azofra
Press officer

Virginie Battu

The article is incomplete in that it does not make reference the recent attacks of the Libyan coastguard on rescue vessels

http://www.statewatch.org/news/2016/dec/med-libya-rescues.htm

but the article does quote the IOM spokesman who says that it was certainly people traffickers who removed the engine from the boat
but strangely the Red Crescent talk only about a 'torn dinghy' found nearby and do not mention the engine at all
this needs to be investigated properly but

what is sure is there are now clearly no limits to what Europe considers necessary to stop refugees and migrants reaching Europe.
