Saturday 11th Febuary, 1800-2000
CCA, 350 Sauchihall St, G3 3JD

Join us for the Launch of Democracy Unchained, written by a group of supporters towards a
Real Democracy Movement. Presentation and discussion. Refreshments will be served.

The book is presented as a draft. It sets out a framework for discussing the potential for
a new movement. It tries to set out what is wrong with the existing system, what real
democracy could look like and how it could be achieved. The aim is to encourage people to
think about what lies beyond the present situation, share ideas at face-to-face meetings,
on social media, on-line etc. with the aim of launching the RDM in the course of 2017.

The event is a contribution to the Neo-Liberalism v. Democracy Congress, Glasgow, 11-12
February - more information here:

I am your friend, your teacher, your nurse. I am your next door neighbour, your cleaner,
your driver. I helped build your house and look after you and your children. I am a part
of your community and, sometimes, even part of your family. I am not a statistic. Does it
matter that I was not born here?

Day after day, people like me wake up in fear. Fear of persecution, violence,
exploitation, and destitution. Fear of being torn away from our communities and the people
we love. Through no fault of our own, we have been made pawns in a political power game
where fear of foreigners is used to justify austerity and increased public surveillance.
As long as this continues, we all lose.

All of us need a home, healthcare, education, meaningful relationships and to live free
from fear. We need to stand together and not let hate and greed divide us. Our differences
nurture our solidarity. On the 20th of February 2017, we ask you to join us in affirming
diversity and celebrating our shared humanity.

Students Not Suspects Scotland Tour- Glasgow
Tuesday 28th Febuary, 1730-2000
University of Strathclyde Student's Association, 90 John St, G1 1JH

Find out about Preventing PREVENT, and surveillance of students

The impact of the Counter Terrorism and Security Act is normalizing Islamophobia and
forcing public servants to act as informants. Students taking action are threatened with
dismissal, arrest and huge court costs. Scottish institutions are under pressure, by the
government, to produce policies, processes, and procedures to monitor students.

How can we ensure prevent implementation doesn't scapegoat our students?

This event is for anyone interested in resisting the impact of the Prevent duty and
working together on ensuring the implementation doesn't negatively impact students. The
speeches and workshops aim to equip students and activists with the knowledge and networks
to take these campaigns on locally, IN YOUR INSTITUTIONS.

Organised by the Black Students Campaign - NUS Scotland, Federation of Student Islamic
Societies (FOSIS) and the University and College Union (UCU)

Animamos a nuestros camaradas y
lectores en todas partes a que se organicen a favor de los refugiados sirios y de la
revolución amenazada, contra la intervención extranjera y el militarismo en Siria, así
como contra el resurgimiento fascista de Assad.

International solidarity IN THOSE FIGHTING AGAINST THE REGIME OF EMERGENCY IN TURKEY ----
On January 22 the repressive forces of the Turkish state murdered after scuffle agonist
Bilgehan Karpat, and arrested injured agonist Erkan (Serif Turunç), two days after the
attacks made by the DHKC (Revolutionary Popular Front) at the Istanbul General Security
and the ruling AKP main building. ---- This police operation is part of the overall
repressive campaign of the Turkish state, which in recent years manifested in military
operations in the Kurdish areas, mass persecution and murderous attacks on opposition
movements and revolutionary organizations. A campaign peaked today, after the failed coup
last July and the extension of emergency rule. The Erdogan regime, accusing his political
opponents of trying to overthrow uses the attempted coup on the one hand for clearances in
all state apparatuses (army, judiciary, public sector) and the other impose totalitarian
war on enemy within, for the dissolution of class and social elements. At the same time it
triggers the fans together with the gray wolves to attack the neighborhoods and places of
leftist and anarchist activists and organizations.

In this direction, anarchists, communists, unionists, teachers, journalists, artists and
those who deny in any way the omnipotence of the regime they face persecution, torture and
imprisonment. Also, catalyzed elementary rights, prohibits gatherings and demonstrations,
suspended newspapers, radios and television stations, censorship and access exclusion
applies to the Internet, parties and organizations designated as terrorist groups,
incursions made into fighters homes and made attacks on politicians and social spaces.
Note that, in this climate anarchist Meydan newspaper is under sedation. On December 23,
the editor and member of the DAF (Anarchist Revolutionary Action) Husein Civan sentenced
to one year and three months for "propaganda of terrorism" while the prisoner Umut Firat
Suvariogullari, also author of Meydan and member of the DAF, held the previous period on
hunger strike for more than 50 days to denounce the inhuman conditions of detention of
political prisoners imposed by the state of emergency.

The form of state aggression in Turkey is shaped so based on the country's position in the
arena of geopolitical alliances and rivalries as well as its long-term orientation of
state and paramilitary terror against revolutionary movements and racing inside.

The iron control and suppression grid that spreads in every field of social life in the
interior is complemented by its policy in the greater Middle East region which, according
to the chauvinism of the Turkish state, includes extermination companies Kurdish
communities, military operations of the Turkish army in northern Syria and elsewhere,
haphazard cooperation within NATO and the European Union, but even with the ISIS itself.

H EU-Turkey agreement on refugees, which characterizes Turkey as a safe place at the same
time imprisons thousands of refugees in camps in southeast and west borders and unfolds
planning to establish an absolutely totalitarian system internally, is declarative for
what is in store for us the states and the bosses in the coming period, especially at a
time of sharpening endokyriarchikon rivalries in the region, but also globally.

Internationalist solidarity to those fighting in Turkey against state totalitarianism, the
killings, persecution and imprisonment of militants, keeping alive the vision of a world
of equality, solidarity and freedom.

Against state and capitalist barbarism and the modern totalitarianism, only hope of the
oppressed is to connect them so that coping with the joint attack they receive. Only
through the flame of the games and international resistances it is possible to vindicate
the real social needs of a free and just society. From neighboring Turkey and
revolutionary Rozava, the slums of France, to the struggles in Mexico, the resistance of
the indigenous people in North America and the massive protests against the regime in the
United States, no one is oppressed not only as there is struggle for freedom.

To take life in our hand, to build a new emancipated society based on dignity, justice,
freedom and solidarity on the ruins of the power world of the state and capital, making
reality generalized social self-management.

International Women's Day means national Women's Strike! ---- Soon it will be March 8, and
like women in many other countries, we too will go on strike! A notice of industrial
conflict has been filed by the SAC, specifying a 24-hour political strike covering all
women working in the Swedish private sector. The reason for this political strike is
simply that enough is enough! We are saying no the undervaluation of women in the labor
market; no to the reactionary forces that are threatening our rights; no to domestic as
well as structural violence against women! On March 8, we are reclaiming the International
Women's Day to the labor movement -never a day for "showing a little extra appreciation",
always a day to celebrate our struggle to get the same rights already taken for granted by
men.

The SAC has serving a confederal notice of a 24 hour political strike, on March 8 2017,
from 00:00-24:00, covering all women employed in the private sector - meaning public
servants are lamentably exempted (the reasons for this are laid out under the "Political
Strike" heading). Remember, if your co-workers are striking but you are unable to
participate, you have the absolute right to remain neutral - no one can force you to take
care of leftover work caused by a strike. Read the headings of "Obligation of Industrial
Peace" and "Neutrality" to learn more about your options for maintaining neutrality.

The decision to serve industrial strike notices on the national level was taken by the
members of the SAC on its 2015 congress. The primary purpose of the strike notice draw
attention to an important issue - we are raising our voices, creating debate, and doing
some necessary stirring of the pots. Secondly, serving a national strike notice also means
that even those who haven't had much experience going into industrial action will be able
to feel more confident in doing so.

As branch autonomy and membership democracy are central to the SAC, it is hard to arrive
at any sort of estimation of how disruptive the strike will end up being - the decision to
take action is left to every local federation (LS), syndicate, workplace section, and, of
course,  every individual member too. This is not disadvantageous, however, because no
matter what the outcome, we will have shown that International Women's Day is not just any
other day, and we will bring out experiences with us into future struggles.

Complementary Activism

If you are not allowed to participate or prefer other expressions of resistance, there are
naturally lots of different things to do to support the strike. These are just a few examples:

*     Make sure there are informational leaflets or fliers in your workplace
*    Wear a badge or clothes with designs supporting the strike
*    Share syndicalist posts with your social media networks
*    Hand out leaflets and put up stickers
*    Organize a syndicalist workshop or talk on the subject of feminism in the workplace
*    Organize a protest meeting or demonstration
*    Support the local women's shelter by organizing a petition or solidarity party
*    Send letters to the editor to your local newspapers

About Political Strikes in Sweden

When workers go on strike on issues that are not specifically workplace-related, these are
considered as political strikes. In other words, these are strikes that aren't presenting
the employer at a workplace with a set of specific demands for them to meet, but to
protest, for instance, a political decision in your or some other country. The political
strike is a controlled burst of working class power, with the downing of tools often
combined with demonstrations and other forms of protest.

However, not everyone is allowed to participate in political strikes. The Public
Employment Act contains stipulations banning such strikes for employees of the Swedish
Parliament and its authorities, Governmental authorities, public insurance agencies,
municipalities, county councils, and municipal associations. (That is, these workers will
only be able to participate in the Women's strike if they connect the industrial action to
practical workplace issues when serving their strike notice.) Aside from these, Swedish
law does not stipulate any further limitations on the right to participate in political
strikes.

Remember that you have the absolute right to "remain neutral" if you fellow workers go on
strike - this means that the law is on your side when you refuse to carry out the tasks
that your co-workers would have carried out if they weren't on strike. It is extremely
important to show solidarity with striking co-workers, and it is our duty as syndicalists
to make sure our workmates have understood that they cannot be forced to do something they
don't want to do here.

Obligation of Industrial Peace

If you are a member of a labor union that has signed a collective bargaining agreement
(CBA), you are automatically bound by an obligation to maintain industrial peace. In other
words, if you go on strike - or participate in any other industrial actions, such as bans
on working overtime - you are also in breach of the Co-determination Act (MBL) and
therefore liable for damages. These type of strikes are also known as "wildcat strikes".
Since very few of the local federations, syndicates and sections that belong to the SAC
have signed CBAs, this means that we strike legally, and are also covered by legal
protections against bosses threatening to penalize employees organized in the SAC.

Moreover, while participants in wildcats are liable for damages, retaliatory firings and
similar actions are not allowed. It is important to realize that if your boss threatens
you with writing reports, warning notices, or giving you the sack, he or she is engaging
in illegal harassment.

Neutrality

Scabbing is one of the most disgusting activities known to man. Unfortunately, there's
nothing in the law against strikebreakers - but on the other hand, there are no laws
forcing you to become one either! Even if you are unable to participate in a strike or
blockades, you still have the right to enter the conflict as a neutral party. This
absolute right to neutrality is upheld by the state through the Employment Ordinance,
which also extends to workers in the private sector (see §14).

Thus, even workers bound by the obligation to maintain industrial peace can show their
support by remaining neutral. As such, you are entitled to refuse all work that would have
been carried out by strikers, and may continue going about your usual tasks. Of course,
not everyone will have the same idea about what tasks belong to the category of "ordinary
work" and "infected work" - that is, work you are under no obligation to carry out. If
your employer refuses to come to an agreement with you, never carry it any work without
first having requested a written order work order, which your boss then has to provide you
with. If your boss refuses to do this, then his or her interpretation of the situation
will carry little weight later.

Overtime

During strikes overtime order are not unusual. However, if you work overtime in a strike
situation, you will in fact be taking part in the boss's efforts to sabotage the union by
undermining the strike. In this context there is only one thing to do, and that is
refusing to work overtime. If your employer refuses to back down in this context, you have
the right to demand a written work order, exactly specifying the exactly the amount of
hours and tasks. Should the boss refuse to do this, there is no credibility to his or her
demands - as long as there is no written work order there is no way for you to make sure
that you will actually get paid for your work, and consequently not under any obligation
to carry out any work.

America is in the middle of the crisis. Elected as the less popular president in history,
Donald Trump has taken the reins and intends to force his agenda over the world by brute
force. Beside him, white supremacists are taking to the streets, convinced that their time
has come. Millions that already had the Democratic Party are losing faith in the entire
political system. Will anything be done to stop the rise of tyranny? ---- This is the
context in which the anarchists are once again returning to the stage of history and to
the front page of the New York Times. Neither voting nor passive protest has worked, and
popular imagination is shifting to open confrontation. Even Trump is tweeting claims about
"professional anarchists, thugs and protestant payers". Imagine that billionaire who hired
actors to launch his campaign, accusing working class protesters of being mercenaries.

The grassroots resistance that has shaken the US since the election of Trump is not the
work of paid or professional Protestants - nor, by extension, George Soros, the so-called
"puppet master" of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories to which Trump is Reference. It did
not come from the Democratic Party, the not-for-profit sector, or the various dissident
socialist groups.

Resistance to Trump came from ordinary people acting on their own terms without waiting
for leadership or instructions. It came from the same people who breathed tear gas into
Ferguson as they faced a militarized police force to defend their neighborhood. It came
from tens of thousands of people who survived the ice water cannons and rubber bullets in
Standing Rock to block a wave that Trump is now trying to cross. She came from those who
risked their lives to face KKK at Stone Mountain and neo-Nazis in Sacramento. It came from
people who disrupted Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, which shut down airports Jan. 28 and
29 to challenge Trump's Muslim ban, which closed Milo Yiannopoulos on Feb. 1.

All these efforts were organized horizontally according to broadly anti-capitalist and
anti-authoritarian frameworks. They are not just some masked people: the spirit of the
times is anarchist.

This resistance was growing long before Trump. The wave of momentum that has exploded in
American consciousness in the last two months has its roots in many years of discontent.
The object of this discontent is not just the Trump regime, but a social order that
creates dramatic imbalances in power and access to resources as war, climate change, and
ecological collapse precipitate. With the most authoritarian advocates of this order at
the helm, only a comprehensive approach to social change has any chance of having any impact.

Anarchists are among the only ones who offer a clear view of another way of living. By
organizing networks and community spaces around the world, we gather to help each other to
meet basic needs and build collective self-defense capacity.

In neighborhoods, workplaces and schools, anarchists are struggling against petty
bourgeoisie, police brutality and exploitation, creating alternative and alternative
infrastructure for survival. Through the bioregions, we are organizing to protect the
drinking water and land that we all depend on for life.

This view conflicts directly with Trump's  top-down  ( top-down ), exclusive, and
authoritative agenda. It's the only real alternative: Obama's time in office has shown
that attempts to improve the state have only left him stronger and more legitimate, so the
next tyrant to take the helm has more power at his disposal. Many people are afraid that
the regime will crack down on resistance, but Trump is determined to wipe out all of us,
regardless. The more we unite, the more we engage the authorities, the faster and more
courageously we act, the more secure we will be.

You and your friends already constitute an affinity group, the essential foundation of
basic anarchist practice. Identify the goal you want to accomplish, build your skills, get
in touch with other groups and take action. That could mean disrupting efforts to recruit
white supremacists or blocking the infrastructure Trump relies on to implement his
executive orders. It could mean uniting people in the defense of their homes, evicting or
protecting their land from development. It could mean setting up rapid response networks
to react to attacks or establishing a free clinic to provide health care for people who
can not get it through institutions. We are counting on you to help us get out of this
situation, to create the world of union and freedom that we all deserve.

Dozens of lycées have been mobilizing since the start of the school year to obtain a map
of the lycées of priority education. Without a new announcement by then, the next strike
will take place on January 3 and will be renewable. ---- In national education, priority
education is the device that is supposed to give a little more to the students who need it
most. This makes it possible to have smaller groups in the classes, specific devices but
also for the personal bonuses and the possibility of accumulating more points for
mutations over the years. "Supposed", because anyone visiting a Paris downtown college and
then a REP + college (the highest level of priority education) will see that it is not
always obvious that it is the latter Is best off in terms of means. ---- Since September,
a mobilization is gaining momentum. Part of lycées du 92, it gathers several dozens of
establishments all over France and especially the most concerned academies: Créteil,
Versailles, Marseille, Toulouse ...

Gathered in the collective Touche pas à ma ZEP (TPAMZ) and organized in general
assemblies, these lycées call for a new map of priority education.

Indeed, if schools and colleges saw a reform of primary education in 2014, there is no
longer a map of secondary schools of priority education. There is therefore a jungle of
acronyms attached to the institutions (Eclair, APV, Suburban Hope Plan, Clair, Ambition
Success ...), inherited from successive reforms or related to the city's policy (such as
"Prevention Violence" They therefore grant no additional means of staffing. In clear
(without bad play of word), there are therefore no more ZEP secondary schools but only
bits of knowledge saved locally without any readability.

Less inequalities after college?

Yet no one is fooled. Social inequalities, academic difficulties, allophone pupils, all
this does not disappear after college. This is particularly true for high schools in
vocational education given the current orientation system. The lycées grouped in the
collective TPMZ and supported by most teacher unions are therefore determined to continue
a mobilization that directly affects both the conditions of study of their students and
the working conditions of the staff. There is also an issue to broaden this mobilization.
South Education called schools and colleges to join her in the November 29 strike.

The Paris event hosted several. But to avoid shortness of breath it is necessary to
continue the work of ant realized until then by the mobilization (tours, calls in the
rooms of teachers, mails ...). The descent of DHGs and the presentation of the TRMDs
(global hourly allocations and summary tables of the means by discipline, which determine
the duplication, the number of pupils per class for the following school year) in the
chests in January could constitute a point of support To develop and anchor this movement.
Even in an election year it is not certain that an effort will be made so these
institutions will be despised by a government that should give priority to education.

As of February 8th, refugees living in tents in the Torbali and Bayindir districts of
Izmir are being evacuated in accordance with district governorate decisions and the
intervention of the gendarmerie. The tent areas are being removed. Thousands of refugees,
who left their countries because of the civil war in Syria, have been struggling to
survive as seasonal agricultural workers and living in the tent camps, constructed with
their own effort, in rural areas of Izmir. Since Wednesday, many tent areas have been
removed by gendarmerie without reason. ---- Today, throughout the world, borders enclose
the world to people as the most prevalent and permanent signs of racism and exploitation.

Governments and capitalists, in cooperation, have been pursuing to make exploitation the
dominant culture. In this way, the borders that they are trying to impose us do not let
the people, who have been running away from wars and poverty, also in the places where
they have temporarily settled. According to the UNHCR's reports, in the last year, there
are over 65 millions of displaces people around the world (the equivalent of one in every
113). However, the structural violence created by capitalism and techno-industrial system
continues to debar or threaten every living creature from essential necessities such as
food, security, accommodation, health services, education.

We can only fight against the system that threatens, exploits, and suppresses the life on
the plant through solidarity! There are struggle and solidarity beyond the borders, walls,
and fences!

This week we share our food in the Taksim Gezi Park, where is one of the most important
places for our history of struggle against authority. The demonstration will be held
simultaneously with Food Not Bombs Izmir collective. Also, we welcome and encourage action
from other places around the world.

Subversion seems to be the quality sine qua non to present itself to the presidency of the
Republic. One of those who boast of being "antisystem" is of course Marine Le Pen. In this
context, she uses feminist discourse from an opportunistic and electoralist perspective.
---- Various personalities or groups of far right are inspired at this time by feminism
and affirm that the answer to the inferiorization of the women is in the defense of a
traditional femininity. Marine Le Pen, unlike Antigones, for example, does not claim a
"sensitivity" specific women but rather states that "it is not a species to protect! We
(women) are not poor things!" [1]. ---- Recently, Marine Le Pen and his entourage were
displayed against the positions of Marion Maréchal-Le Pen who wants to "return to full and
unlimited reimbursement of abortion." This position is politically expedient and not
feminist. It is indeed permissible to doubt the anti-patriarchal commitment of the one who
until then had always vigorously criticized the right to abortion.

Women's rights as a strategy for

Certainly, sometimes Marine Le Pen defends the rights of women with a rhetorical emphasis
in the stands of big daily newspapers, but only if it allows him to broadcast a racist
speech. After the sexual assault and rape that occurred during the night of Christmas Eve
in Cologne last year, she said: "What barbarism can be exercised again against women, due
to political Migratory fills me with fright. "

On the other hand, when the barbarism is accomplished by white men, French and patrons,
Marine Le Pen and the FN supports it. Thus, Frontist senators tabled an amendment to the
Labor Act aimed at abolishing Article 1-bis on sexual harassment. According to them,
"allowing victims of gender harassment to present only the facts of facts suggesting the
existence of harassment, Article 1a opens the door to serious abuses and promotes negative
attitudes procedural relations between employer And employed ". The fear of the party
leader fades easily when gender-based violence is committed by employers. Marine Le Pen
does nothing but defend his own class interests here.

It is, indeed, the bourgeois and patriarchal order, established for centuries, that it
defends. Marine Le Pen and her party praise the "traditional" family and castigate the
right of women to dispose of their bodies and homosexuality. Criticism of the system and
the struggle to destroy it require courage, tenacity, materialist analysis and the
elaboration of a collective and emancipatory political project. Marine Le Pen has only one
objective: power. It instrumentalises feminism for a purely personal and electoralist
purpose. The FN, by its very nature as a party of extreme right, defends the reaction, the
tradition and therefore those who already possess, those who are already powerful, those
who are perfectly integrated into the system.

STATE AND CHAPTER breeds fascism ---- "... In constant international instability and
turmoil systemic policies stable, born the great potential of its revolutionary
emancipation. Opposite already formed the counterrevolutionary extreme right and fascist
facet of modern totalitarianism to get as ultimate barrier to the development of social
history, which goes through the ceaseless struggle for freedom and equality. War and
fascism, this is the "response" of the system in a comprehensive and deep crisis in its
own contradictions, who causes the incurable conflict imposed by the basic principle, the
exploitation and oppression of man by man. " ----  (excerpt from the Declaration of the 2
nd  of APO) Conference ---- The organized presence of anarchist anti-fascist movement in
the trial of the Golden Dawn, the days-trial for the attack from assault battalion of ASE
in June 2008, is another point of the struggle against the fascist assault battalions and
their state patrons.

We do not have any kind of illusions that fascism can be fought in courtrooms. Fascism can
be defeated on the road from the world of the game and understand the presence of the
movement in this trial as yet another barrier against the fascists and the State attempts
to flush them and disorient the society of the inextricable relationship with them.

Against modern totalitarianism, war and fascism is necessary on our part our organization
further political, social and class. For the creation of a libertarian movement capable
formulate comprehensive rollover terms of the state and capital. To create another vision
for society to respect the principles of equality, freedom, solidarity.
