Grab your ticket and your suitcase
Thunder’s rollin’ down this track
Well, you don’t know where you’re goin’ now
But you know you won’t be back
Well, darlin’ if you’re weary
Lay your head upon my chest
We’ll take what we can carry
Yeah, and we’ll leave the rest

Big wheels roll through fields
Where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams

Well, I will provide for you
And I’ll stand by your side
You’ll need a good companion now
For this part of the ride
Leave behind your sorrows
Let this day be the last
Tomorrow there’ll be sunshine
And all this darkness past

Big wheels roll through fields
Where sunlight streams
Oh meet me in a land of hope and dreams

This train...
Carries saints and sinners
This train...
Carries losers and winners
This train...
Carries whores and gamblers
This train...
Carries lost souls

I said this train...
Dreams will not be thwarted
This train...
Faith will be rewarded - Land Of Hope And Dreams

And that brings us to tonight's word: PEOPLE GET READY, THERE'S A TRAIN A COMIN'

Got your ticket? We can hear the train whistle a blowin'. Blowin' around the bend. Can't see it yet, but we can hear it. And your ears don't lie. The 3:10 to Yuma is barreling down the track.

I love the lines in this song. This train that's coming doesn't discriminate. This train has room for all the whores. All the gamblers. All the back sliders and back biters. All the corner boys. All the barrachos and hooligans. All the dealers and crackheads. All the cholos and car thieves. All the draft dodgers and tax evaders. All the leg breakers and gun dealers. It's a mighty big train.

Even though there's room for all of humanity and it's the greatest, best, most gold plated, diamond encrusted, platinum train ever (sorry couldn't help myself), it sounds like there's a catch. It sounds like no one is going to force you to get on board. Curtis Mayfield said faith is the ticket. Do we got the faith my brothers and sisters?? I think we ALLLL have faith here in this room. But I also know all of us have our faith shaken at times on this long road trip. Gotten out of the car and started walking in to the desert once or twice. We're only human right? I know my article "Halftime" was a dark moment of broken faith. I know Yosef had his "Busted". Bruce has kept it together pretty tight but I've heard his voice shake once or twice. Only human.

We are asked to walk by faith and not by sight. That's kinda hard to do when those around you are hurting, right? I read Midwestman today and I want to say thank you for sharing your personal experiences with us. It must be very hard for you. But it got me thinking that all of us must have someone in our lives that is sick with cancer. Or has autism. Or is in a wheel chair. Or has down syndrome. Your post got me thinking about me friend who has MS. Thank God he has a good wife who stayed with him and does all the heavy lifting as he's in a wheelchair permanently. I hope that when we all remember these ones as we get frustrated too. That it may be ok for a moment to break a plate. To throw down your hat and say "Christ does it got to be like that?" This lovely couple, an example of true love, will be one of the first to receive Gods blessing courtesy of Dong Charities. They just don't know it yet. Surprise!

This brings me to another point. I am a firm believer in the healing ships. I believe they are right there waiting just as we are. They are probably about 8 miles up. Just waiting in the cold. "The universe is beautiful but cold". While we are drudging thru the cold fallout of disease and lack courtesy of the cabal. And I'm sure they're frustrated too. Again, I imagine it's like the starving prisoners found in concentration camps and not being able to feed them. I'm sure they are watching us chomping at the bit to do what they do best. Heal. Can you imagine being a higher being and seeing these diseases that can be cured so simply by them? If they have compassion, which I'm sure they do, I would think they cry for us and our species. If they do cry that is. Maybe I'm just a I'm a hippie dippie wearing my grateful dead tie die smoking out in my VW bus with my "JERBEAR" license plate. Maybe I'll change my name to Star Child. Tonight's Word: FLOWER POWER.....I'll own that. But I believe that the sick will be healed. I believe my friend will walk again. I believe Midwestman's wife will be cancer free by Spring. Hallelujah!! You just gotta walk by faith.

And Midwestman, if you feel that going after Yosef gives you some form of satisfaction, by all means go ahead. I'm feeling ya. At this point in time we all know thru past experience that he's not going to defer his message to those who want to hear it. I would guess more are grateful than not for his messages. But for someone (or anyone else for that matter) in your position to receive discomfort from his words...well...I bet it stings a little. Cause his message is not aimed at you per se. Vis a vis. And I bet he'd be the first to say he's not doing this to cause pain to anyone. If singling out Yosef and his message help you get thru the day, and brings you comfort during this difficult time, I'll understand. And if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad....

I can't remember who wrote about sitting on a new York stoop back in the 70's or 80's before cell phones and life was face to face conversation. I loved that imagery. This one's for you.

So if there's any whores and gamblers out there in the audience, have no fear. Have faith. Get ready for there's a train a coming. And it's got your name all over it.

And that's the word
