The Power to Protect or Deny Human Rights
Take Action ![]() |
Dear friends,
In a Trump Administration, our work to stand up for human rights will be more important than ever. In the next few days, one of President-elect Trump's most important cabinet picks, Secretary of State, will be decided.
Before Trump's Secretary of State pick, Rex Tillerson, is confirmed by a Senate vote, we need to make sure our representatives ask the right questions, including: will he protect or ignore human rights?
Take action to stand up for human rights in a Trump Administration.
Trump's nomination of Rex Tillerson, a former ExxonMobil CEO, raises big questions about human rights in a Trump Administration. In his previous role, Tillerson has done business with human rights violators across the globe, including the governments of Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Russia, and Nigeria. If Tillerson becomes Secretary of State in a Trump Administration, will he be willing to hold these same governments accountable?
Take action to ensure that human rights violators are held accountable in a Trump Administration.
Luc, the role of our Secretary of State is incredibly important and will have long lasting repercussions. This nominee will have the power to protect or deny human rights for millions of people.
That's why we are calling on Amnesty activists like you to send a loud and clear message to your senators:
Human rights must be non-negotiable for the Trump Administration.
Thank you for taking action,
Margaret Huang
