Territories
The exhibition features works by two visual artists, Asli Bolayir and Christine Chiorboli, the one from the Turkish Cypriot quarter of Pafos, Mouttalos, and the other from Corsica. Issues such as identity and cross-border movement or confinement are explored in their work, which in turn reflects the internal struggle of the artists trying to find their own place, or to become a part of the place in which they live. Likewise, their projects reflect the concern of being somewhere or nowhere between national policies and natural identity policies and the conflict of being “somebody” or “nobody”.
