This is why I rant. Geez, I'd be insane if I WEREN'T ranting! Seriously, folks. I'd be flat-lined, pushing daisies, from six feet under.
There's nothing political about my concerns. Nor should politics be anyone's primary concern, at this point.
My concerns aren't for ME.
MY CONCERNS ARE FOR THE PRECIOUS CHILDREN! I RANT FOR THESE PRECIOUS ANGELS WHO ARE SLOWLY, PAINFULLY STARVING TO DEATH EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY WHILE THE SO-CALLED LEADERS OF THE "FREE" WORLD PLAY WAR GAMES AND MONOPOLY WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES, BICKERING AMONG THEMSELVES FROM THEIR IVORY TOWERS, AND LOUNGING IN THEIR GOLDEN THRONE BATHROOMS, AND INCESSANTLY BEATING THEIR CHESTS AND CALLING EACH OTHER NAMES, SELF-RIGHTEOUS AND UNACCOUNTABLE, ON FULL DISPLAY FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD TO WITNESS.
Shame on you ALL!!! Your mothers should whoop your asses!
BTW, who does this make sense to? Ask yourself this: If you were acting as a benevolent agent for positive global change, wouldn't the first thing you'd do, be to immediately release funds to humanitarian groups who could feed starving children instead of rewarding heinous criminals with amnesty and lots of money, letting them pretend to be saviors, in hopes that they'll play nice?
Quite frankly, I'm sick of it, no matter the latest reason or excuse or collateral damage or for-our-own-good storyline. ENOUGH!
And for the record - My dismay and anger has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what I believe!
These are someone's precious children. What if they were yours?
In fact, they ARE our children. THEY BELONG TO ALL OF US and they deserve our protection.
I will die in the street for THEM!
This is WHY I'm so pissed off right now. It's not about ME.
It's about THEM. Period. It's always been about them.
Patience? I call BS.
Will patience save them? NO!
Platitudes won't feed them, either.
They don't care about what we BELIEVE. They're starving to death. They need us to stop yammering and show up in our big people clothes and actually DO SOMETHING!
In what world is this okay? This is clear evidence of moral and spiritual bankruptcy:

Kwashiorkor is a severe form of malnutrition, caused by a deficiency in dietary protein. The extreme lack of protein causes an osmotic imbalance in the gastro-intestinal system causing swelling of the gut diagnosed as an edema or retention of water.
The Disease
Although the distended abdomen is perhaps the most recognized sign of kwashiorkor, other symptoms are more common. They include swelling of the feet and ankles (pitting edema), tooth loss, thinning hair, loss of pigmentation in the skin, loss of appetite, irritability, loss of muscle mass and dermatitis. Internally, many even suffer from an enlarged, fatty liver.
The swollen belly is the result of not only that enlarged liver, but also the loss of muscle mass, which leads to weak abdominal muscles. Together with a weakened lymphatic system that is unable to keep up with the body’s liquid wastes, when those wastes accumulate in the abdomen, the belly becomes distended.
In extreme cases, the skin of kwashiorkor victims sloughs off leaving open, weeping sores that resemble burn wounds. Most child victims also suffer from diarrhea, worm infestations, and impaired immunity. This last contributes to higher rates of gastroenteritis (swelling of the gut), tuberculosis, HIV, pneumonia, septicemia and measles.
Untreated, a child may suffer shock, slip into a coma and die.
Sometimes I can barely sleep at night for worrying about them, but worry doesn't help them either. Nor do happy thoughts.
And yes, these images are very difficult to look at. We look away because, on some level, what we don't bear witness to, doesn't exist. But this is REAL, as real as it gets. And if these pictures don't motivate us to rise up and by the power vested in us, act accordingly, then what in God's name will? Serious question.
This abhorrent and senseless tragedy is unconscionable, to say the very least and in the kindest language I can muster.
This is NOT political. Or even open for debate.
It's simply unacceptable by any measure of human decency and this should be our highest priority. No matter our politics or religion or gender or ethnicity or social-economic views. This is a cause we ALL should readily rally around as a primary reason to drop the blustering BS and to come together, unified and committed to doing better, and actually solve these problems and address humanity's fundamental survival issues.
There are millions more who are suffering just like these. Get the picture?
So yes, this is exactly why I rant. Because my heart is broken, for them...hooray for me.
Time to wake up, people and get our priorities straight once and for all, shall we, at long last?
