SORRY FOLKS BUT I'M KINDA GOING THROUGH A MAJOR CHANGE!
I used to think I was just another ordinary loving and giving person, but . . .
I was born white, which now whether I like it or not, and according to today's standards, that makes me some sort of a racist!
I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me me some sort of a fascist.
I am heterosexual, which by today's standards, now makes me some sort of a homophobic nut job.
I am non-union, which by today's standards, makes me some sort of a traitor to the working-class and an ally of big business!
I am a Christian, which by today's standards, now labels me as some sort of an infidel!
I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which by today's standards, now makes me some sort of a card-carrying member of the vast gun lobby!
I am much older, which by today's standards, makes me a useless, tired old man!
I think and I use reason, therefore I doubt much that the main-stream media tells me, which by today's standards, must make me some sort of a reactionary or better-for-worse another one of those tin-foiled conspiracy theorist!
I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which by today's standards, makes me some sort of a xenophobe!
I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, which by today's standards, makes me some sort of a right-wing extremist!
I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each and every individual's personal merits, which by today's standards, makes me an anti-socialist!
I believe in the defense and protection of my homeland for and by all its citizenry, which by today's standards, now makes me some sort of a militant!
Now, some woman, who's just a decade or so older than me has the audacity to call me and my like-minded friends a basket full of "Deplorables", which is again by today's standards!
Please help me come to terms with this new me . . . because I'm just not sure of who in the hell I am anymore!
I would like to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, new found changes I am now going through in my life and in my thinking as well!
I just can't imagine or understand what has happened to me and it happened all so quickly!
Funny though . . . it's all just taken place in the course of the past 8 years! As if all this crap wasn't enough to deal with . . . now I'm even afraid to go into a public restroom!
Well, just thinking out loud and please forgive me in advance if I may have unintentionally ruffled anyone's feathers or rattled anyone's cage!
Because I'm not just ME anymore! But I AM still HUMAN!
