BGG says(9:12 AM):

CBI still hasn't updated the indicative rates (since 1/4/17) on the CBI - something is going on. What that change means?? Hard to say...

BGG says(9:13 AM):

but the flip side is - to say it means nothing is a little arrogant.

Twilight News / Iraqi parliament called for "Civil Democratic Alliance", high - Sheikh Ali, the Arab states to "support Iraq" and "stand beside him , " stressing the need to be assigned this "national in Iraq , " states.

He said in an interview for "Arab" within the "point of order" program, that his country is in "need of Arab states, because they strengthened it , " and therefore "on the Arabs to be with us."

He denied at the same time call for the "intervention of Arab armies to fight Daesh , " adding that " the Iraqi army 's mission."

He described what is happening from "terrorist operations" as "abhorrent religious war destroyed Iraq."

On the other hand, and on the subject of his call to "civil state", and the possibility to achieve, he explained that " the religious authority is called the civil state," and the reason is that "Sistani disgusted by those who rule , " especially those involved in corruption and embezzlement and quota issues.

Furthermore, Sheikh Ali promised to reopen the "bars" in Iraq, the belief Bmdnah state and individual liberty, and because the decision to ban "alcohol" but released in order to allow to the advantage of the sale and promotion of the drug, according to his speech to the colleague Hassan Moawad, saying that "drugs began sweeping Iraq, which warned against the danger of it, and there are religious parties funded their activities of ministries, contracts and money gambling." He stopped at the irony, that "under the regime of Saddam Hussein was the death penalty drug use , " while today and under the rule of "religious parties" who gets to "call Almtaaton!".

This article is from Kathy Keller on Facebook Peshmerga: ISIS routed from most areas, but still posing serious threat

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—ISIS may have been routed from many of its previous territories including the eastern side of Mosul city, but it still poses a serious threat especially in the form of terrorist and hit-and-run attacks, warns a senior Peshmerga official.

“The group still has strength in Mosul though it has been routed in many areas including the eastern bank of Mosul,” said Jabar Yawar, chief of staff of the Kurdish Peshmerga ministry. “As recently as yesterday ISIS carried out a terrorist attack at Nafkhana near Khanaqin where a few were killed and four were abducted.”

Therefore, said Yawar: “The operation has not ended yet neither have terrorist acts.”

Yawar who was speaking alongside a number of Iraqi army commanders at a panel organized by the Middle East Research Institute (MERI) said small ISIS groups still roam along the Kurdistan Region borders especially south of Kirkuk.

“They might be few, but they are out there,” he said. “They are small hit-and-run groups and most of it originates from Hawija.”

“That is why plan is being made for the liberation of Hawija.” Yawar revealed.

Recognizing the danger ISIS poses from Hawija, said Yawar, a plan had been made to liberate it from ISIS even before launching the October Mosul operation.

“It was supposed that Hawija would start before Mosul,” he explained. “It is important for us because it is a threat to Kirkuk and other areas.”

The Hawija operation has been the topic of much speculation in the last two years as to when it may start and which forces may be involved, Yawar said however that as far as Kurdish forces were concerned, there was complete readiness.

“After the start of the Mosul operation we have had talks with Iraqi forces on this and the plan is there. Only the date needs to be decided.” Yawar maintained. “Our forces are ready.”

The Kurdish military official said that the Peshmerga and Iraqi forces have practiced great coordination in the push for Mosul and that political differences haven’t hampered military action.

He said: “Politics have been put aside for now and the issues of territories will be solved through the constitution, the law and negotiations in the future

Parliament: Development of a paragraph in the electricity law protects citizens from the additional financial implications

Baghdad balances News - He parliamentary legal committee member Hassan al-Shammari, Friday, put the paragraph in the Ministry of Electricity Act prohibits the ministry of transforming the infrastructure of power plants to the private sector.

Al-Shammari said in a statement seen by / balances News /, he "succeeded in convincing the House of Representatives put a paragraph in the Ministry of Electricity Law, the ministry prevented from converting the infrastructure for power plants to the private sector and limit the subject of investment in the creation of new generating stations and the distribution and transmission of electricity."

He added, "This will contribute to the protection of citizens from the additional financial implications due to pressing government's policy on citizens financially for the benefit of foreign oil companies, the Council voted on the proposal after the approval of the relevant committee." (Sounds like they are "boot-strapping" a little anti-oil company rhetoric to this unrelated issue in an effort to get the people behind it...).

It is worth mentioning that the House voted on the Ministry of Electricity in its session yesterday (but of course - they aren't doing anything - RIGHT?!?)

clay says to futuremoney(10:27 AM):

where did they get them I wonder

futuremoney says(10:27 AM):

they probably just stole them

BGG says to futuremoney(10:28 AM):

I don't think that is such ****ing evidence - ISIS is using whatever they get their hands on. I got a report some time ago - ISIS was using priceless german artifacts... fully functioning assault rifles dating back to WWII. It appears they had raided a wealth collectors cache. Too bad too, those rifles were new and unused - HUGE VALUES... those guys were dumber than dumb. The ammo is hard to get and not terribly effective. Once they are out - they're out.

futuremoney says(10:28 AM):

they look in rough shape..

BGG says to futuremoney(10:28 AM):

how about the US writing on all the HMMWV's?? 8-|

futuremoney says to BGG(10:29 AM):

agreed BGG, they are using anything they can get their hands on..

jeffusa says(10:33 AM):

Iraqi army soldiers have managed to regain control over two villages north of the strategic city of Mosul as government forces, backed by fighters from allied Popular Mobilization Units and Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, are involved in multi-pronged operations to expel Daesh terrorists from their last urban stronghold in the country.

Lieutenant Colonel Diya Lafta said troops from his Ninth Armored Division began advancing toward the villages on Thursday morning, and liberated them from the clutches of Daesh extremists “after a few hours.”

Witnesses said government forces were mostly in control of the village of Shereikhan by afternoon, but skirmishes between Iraqi army troops and the militants continued in the surrounding villages.
