TUESDAY 17th JANUARY 2017  JAZZ BACK TO THE ROOTS
Vandueren - Gilson - Jonkers
   Joos Vandueren (sax), Alex Gilson (bass), Daniel Jonkers (drums) 

   This international Brussels based trio (BE-NL-FR) will make a tribute to saxophonist Joshua Redman.
   The band will perform a mix of Redman’s most remarkable compositions, and other jazz standards
   that the famous sax player used to play.

THURSDAY 19th JANUARY 2017 GUITAR VIRTUOSI
MARQUITO VELEZ SOLO
Marquito Velez started to play flamenco guitar at an early age. At 15 he refined his playing 
under the expert guidance of Pedro Escalona. 
There he joined musical contests like the one of 
Jerez de la Frontera and 
La Union. 
In March
 1988 he played the supporting act of Paco de Lucia in Brussels. Since then 
he has been performing regularly, both as a soloist and as an accompanist.
Teacher at The Charleville-Mezières Conservatory , he has published the cd ‘Flamenco Guitar’.
An out of common artist to discover, a rare appearance on a Belgian scene…

FRIDAY 20th JANUARY 2017 BRITISH JAZZ SINGER
Norma Winstone & the Jeanfrançois Prins Trio

Although she began her career singing jazz standards, she soon started exploring the use of 
the voice in an instrumental way,
evolving her own wordless approach to improvisation and becoming a leading lyricist setting words
 to great jazz melodies.
Since her first recording as a leader in 1971 ("Edge of Time"), Ms. Winstone has released an 
impressive collection of albums (almost 30) ,with luminaries from the European and American 
 jazz scene, which got her numerous Grammy-Award nominations,
four-stars in Downbeat Magazine and a world-wide recognition as a
 legendary jazz vocalist.

Dee Dee Bridgewater,

the Metropole orchestra, to name a few...
Steve Houben is known for his sensual sound, his refined melodic approach and his deep

 respect of the tradition ;
Ivan Paduart has recorded 31 CDs as a leader and is known for his luminous 

compositions and arrangements.
