Vogue 8776 Tomato Red Cape

I've just finished this cape; Vogue8776.

I have some cape patterns and these are similar designs. In my opinion, Vogue8776 is the best out all of them. I've made a cape from Vogue 8776 with gray melton wool before (I reviewed it on PatternReview.com: here), so I have wanted to make a bright colour one for a long time. I am happy that I could make the red cape.

I used a red twilled wool that is the colour of a tomato. This pattern doesn't have lining pattern but I added the busy floral printed polyester as a lining. I was given the floral fabric so I kept it for a long time. To be honest, I didn't like the fabric, because it's too flashy for me and looks like it should be used as a Japanese underwear (undergarment for kimono).
I changed the design to so that the button would be hidden from a standard front because I wanted to show off the rounded cocoon silhouette. I attached the big black button (I bought it from la droguerie in Tokyo) and the snap onto the collar. I don't know what shape the button is, but it looks like a nut or a leaf. I extended the armhole openings wider by 0.4 inches, because it be being worn more comfortably and move easily.

I LOVE this cape. Most cape patterns don't have any pockets, but Vogue 8776 has ones. I would recommend this pattern to everyone. Unfortunately, this pattern is out of print now, I sometimes still see it on etsy and Ebay. If I lost it, I'd still get it again!
Cold weather is coming to Japan but I will wear it a lot.

Recently, the weather in Japan is REALLY strange. It was very warm two weeks ago (it was like spring) and a lot of sunflowers were blooming! Last week in Tokyo, it snowed and this picture was then taken at sunflower field close to Tokyo. These sunflowers were covered with snow! Crazy!
I have to check the weather every morning to know whether I should wear a heavy coat or not. I'll need a light, warm coat for a while.
