UVB-76 The Buzzer the ZhUOZ Report 2016

The year 2016 was full of surprises... One of them that our beloved UVB-76 the Buzzer, the star of the Russian military shortwave network no longer calls himself Mihail, Dimitri, Zhena, Boris of MDZhB  but since last week of 2015 now starts its messages with Zhena, Ulyana, Olga, Zinaida or ZhUOZ. What made the Russian communications force command change the name for its Western military district command center is a mystery. MDZhB was in use since 2010 when Buzzer or Жужжалка as Russians call it dropped its original callsign UZB-76. One logical explanation was that its five year cycle and the station had to change its call sign. That was not the sole change for buzzer observed this year. By staying true to its original frequency 4625 kHz, it also broadcasts on 6998 kHz and can be heard on 9250 kHz. The ever expanding Russian military seems to require more frequencies to reach their buzzer from faraway locations. Also a interesting pattern has been noticed in message codewords or monoliths - they are no longer known nouns from Russian language dictionary, that for some reason on most part was terms from botanical or chemical dictionaries. Now instead of one noun word there are compound words; often gibberish and unintelligible. 2016 was also full of message marathon events of more than 2 messages in a day and reaching record of more than 10 messages in a single day. Usual days for messages to appear was Monday and Thursday.  A military insider from Russian army is needed to explain these interesting changes how the buzzer worked this year. Since 2013 I have gathered a report of all captured messages on the 4625 kHz and now a list of recorded messages is again here for you. All the recordings, except one are from numbers-stations.com database  and are mad by me. When its possible a translation for code word is provided, but don't take these meanings too directly.
