2016 was a good year for some of the world's biggest bigots... but not for Steven Anderson.
This U.S. pastor made a career out of anti-LGBT hate speech. After the tragic mass shooting at a gay club in Orlando, he celebrated, saying there were now "50 less pedophiles in the world."
A few months ago, Anderson was headed to my country of South Africa on a "soul winning" campaign to convert more followers. But after 53,000 All Out members signed a petition to the Minister of Home Affairs, Anderson was denied entry into my country!
Stopping Anderson was a big win, but forces of bigotry are feeling empowered by Trump's victory and Brexit. We have to fight hard to defend Africa's LGBT communities. With your help, we can keep exported hate out, just like we did with Steven Anderson.

Anderson isn't the only one with his eyes set on Africa.
Brian Camenker is the founder of MassResistance, an anti-LGBT hate group, who compared gay people to Nazis. And a few months ago, Camenker's group arrived in Nigeria, a country where it's already illegal to be gay.
All Out is on the ground in Nigeria too, and we know that MassResistance's presence is only going to make things worse for the LGBT community, who face some of the world's most entrenched homophobia.
People like Camenker and Anderson aren't going anywhere soon – but neither are we.
