Perfection

Germans have long aspired to perfect things.  Their desire for perfection has lead to many good things, the Audi, the Porsche, the Octoberfest, the German Short Haired Pointer.

A couple of near perfect cars, the perfect excuse to wear lederhosen  and what is by most accounts the perfect dog, if you don't mind the occasional mile chase of a free running pup.

That obsession with perfection just as often goes awry , witness the Mercedes Benz, the Volkswagen Diesel, the Hindenberg and of course who can forget WWII.  I will never forget the day when a guy at the curb outside described his car as a $45,000 dollar garbage can  or when VW  said that their mileage figures were off just a bit.  Of  course I know first hand of the dog chase, having had the pleasure of a German Short Hair in the house.  He was a great dog, wonderful with children and he when he got loose would scare the crap out of countless walkers in my neighborhood.  There is just something unnerving about watching a largish dog approaching you at a full speed gallop of 45 miles per hour, even if he would slobber you with licks when he got to you.  And WWII was before my time, but I understand that people still hold it against the Germans

The Irish on the other hand are known for their wit and whiskey .

The Irish being less obsessed with perfection  have nevertheless come up with what appears to be marketing perfection.  That is if we believe Bailey"s to be really Irish and not some marketing of nationality. nameless conglomerate.  So what if it has natural and artificial flavorings

I mean keep yourself from slurping it right out of the bottle, if you have the willpower.

Slam dunk winner, I mean what is not to like. Bourbon,Vanilla , Poundcake Coffee Creamer.  Just let that one run around you head and roll off you lips.

Bravo, bravo Bailey's marketing maven, you have scored your career.  The only thing that might be more perfect would be Peppermint Schnapps,Strudel coffee creamer---nah see how that Germanic search for perfection can lead you astray.
