Families under siege in Aleppo: You can help

ALEPPO UPDATE: 12/21/2016 -They’ve been told they’re getting out, but over the last 48 hours, all attempts to evacuate men, women and children have halted due to increased violence.
Aleppo has been described by the UN as “a synonym for hell” and right now, tens of thousands of people are still trapped in this nightmare. Help Amnesty advocate for their safety.

Dear friends,
Right now Syrians are being murdered just because they are trying to escape.
Aleppo is in turmoil. The situation in Syria is turbulent and more fragile than ever, with people posting their fears publically on Facebook and Twitter.
Tens of thousands of people are still trapped, with the hopes of a safe evacuation just out of reach. Men, women and children who attempt to flee are being bombed and murdered in the street.
Amnesty needs your help to expose the truth and demand that international governments take action to save lives. Your donation will support our efforts. For a short time, it will go twice as far as part of our year-end match campaign.
A teacher described Aleppo, Syria, saying, "Bombs are everywhere. People are running, people are injured in the streets, no-one can dare go to help them, some people are under the rubble."
Amnesty has been working in and on Syria since the civil war first erupted and we will continue our efforts advocating on behalf of families still there and those that have fled seeking safer havens abroad.
We can’t forget about the people who are forced to stay behind. Donate and you will help us advocate for them around the world. Your gift will go twice as far.
Sincerely,
Diana Sayed
