Dear all,
On 14th of December a first charter flight took place from
Frankfurt/Germany to Kabul/Afghanistan and a few days before a joint
charter by Sweden and Norway.

The charter-deportation in Germany was initially planned for 50 persons,
finally 34 have been deported, for another 16 the deportation was
cancelled out of different reasons (medical problems, but also last
minute legal interventions).
We are right now updating the "Information against the Fear"-leaflet of
Welcome to Europe (most of the old version is still up to date, but we
want to give more space for all those who are most in danger in the
moment, current version here, new version in the next days:
http://w2eu.info/germany.en/articles/germany-deportation-afghanistan.en.html).
We still think that beside scandalizing and protesting against the
deportations (on Wednesday about 600 people gathered spontaneously in
the airport of Frankfurt, where we had only learned the day before that
Frankfurt would be the departure-airport), we need another stronger
struggle for right to stay. We still think that it will be very
difficult to carry out mass-deportations to Afghanistan - and that a
common struggle for right to stay can be successful for many people.
On Saturday 10th of December, a protest with 3-400 people, more then
half of them refugees from Afghanistan had happened already in the
airport of Frankfurt. Before we knew that the charter will also start
from here.
By the way: as we all know, Frontex plays a more and more crucial role
in deportations. The charter from Frankfurt as well as the joined
charter from Norway and Sweden was corrdinated by them.
All the best,
marion
