Ps 1:1-4, 6;
Lk:18:35-43
“WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO FOR YOU?”
It is fascinating to listen to Jesus asking the man what he wants. We might think that it is obvious. But why does Jesus ask the obvious? It could be either of these two reasons: Firstly, to energize faith and cause it to be vocalized, or Secondly to help the person himself determine what he wanted from Jesus. This question can be useful for us, his disciples. The fact is, some of us do not really want to be healed -- a blessing, a prayer, perhaps, but not real healing. We are comfortable with our condition and the caring that the illness has created for us. We could probably be more like the blind man who is not reserved or concerned about how he may appear in front of others, but calls out in faith for Christ. How would our days be different if you and I enlivened our relationship with God and called out in faith?
Prayer: O Lord, I come to You in faith and trust. Give me a renewed vision. Amen.
