2 1/2 Jahre nach dem international organisierten March for Freedom sind
6 Aktvist_innen in Luxemburg-Stadt angeklagt. Während eines Aktionstags
am 5.6.2014 war es in Luxemburg auf dem Kirchberg zu 13 brutalen
Festnahmen während einer Demonstration gekommen. Anlass war eine Tagung
der EU-Innenminister zum Thema „Kampf gegen illegale Immigration.“
Nun sind am 29.11. 2016 sechs der Verhafteten in Luxemburg vorgeladen.
Ihnen wird gemeinschaftlich Verstoß gegen Art. 269 des Luxemburger StGB
vorgeworfen (bewaffnete Rebellion), zudem noch einzeln Körperverletzung,
Sachbeschädigung, Beleidigung und Widerstand.
Beim selbstorganisierten March for Freedom marschierten ca. 100
Aktivst_innen von Mai bis Juni 2014 mehr als 500 km von Straßburg nach
Brüssel. Sie überquerten friedlich 6 EU-Landesgrenzen und organisierten
Aktionstage in mehreren Städten sowie ein einwöchiges Protestcamp in
Brüssel.
Am besagten Tag hatte eine Delegation von Geflüchteten um Mitsprache bei
der Innenministerkonferenz gebeten. Daraufhin kam es zu einem massiven
Polizeieinsatz mit Reizgas, Schlagstöcken und Hunden ohne Maulkorb. Eine
Aktivistin wurde von einem Hund gebissen und mehrere Teilnehmende
erlitten Verletzungen durch Reizgas und Schläge. Verhaftete wurden auf
der Wache misshandelt und rassistisch erniedrigt.
Der Einsatz brachte der Luxemburger Polizei heftige Kritik im eigenen
Land. Auf Anordnung des Luxemburger Innenministeriums wurden alle 13
Verhaftete wenige Stunden später entlassen. Luxemburger Jurist_innen
kritisierten in der Presse den „unverhältnismäßigen Einsatz von Gewalt“
seitens der Polizei. Ein Untersuchungsausschuss des Innenministeriums
befasste sich daraufhin mit dem Einsatz.
Mehr als 2 Jahre nach dem Vorfall, kurz vor Ende der Verjährungsfrist,
meldet sich nun die Staatsanwaltschaft mit fabriziert erscheinenden
Anklagen. Sechs der 13 Verhafteten wird nun „bewaffnete Rebellion“ nach
vorheriger Vereinbarung vorgeworfen.
Es ist zu erwarten, dass die kritisierten Sicherheitsbehörden einen
politischen Prozess führen wollen. Trotz der schwachen Beweislage sind
die Anklagen sehr massiv. In Luxemburg gibt es kaum politische Verfahren
und keine große Öffentlichkeit, wie in Nachbarstaaten. Daher rufen wir
auf zu internationaler Prozessbeobachtung. Spenden für Fahrt- und

Trial in Luxemburg – Repression against „March for Freedom“
Two and a half years after the internationally organized March for
Freedom, six activists are going to trial. During the day of action on
May 5, 2014 there were thirteen brutal arrests at a demonstration on the
Kirchberg in Luxemburg. The demonstration was a protest against a
meeting of European Union Ministers of Interior entitled “Fight Against
Illegal Immigration”.
Now six of those who were arrested in Luxemburg are being summoned to
court on November 29, 2016. They are accused of collectively violating
Article 269 of the Luxembourg Criminal Code (armed rebellion). In
addition there are individual counts of bodily injury, damage to
property, insulting [the police]and resisting arrest.
During the self-organized “March for Freedom” ( May – June 2014), about
100 activists marched more than 500 kilometers from Strasbourg to
Brussels. They peacefully crossed 6 EU national borders and organized
days of action in several cities, as well as a one-week protest camp in
Brussels.
On the day in question, a delegation of refugees had asked to speak to
the House of Representatives’ Conference. The response was a massive
police deployment including use of pepper spray, batons and dogs without
muzzles. One activist was bitten by a dog and several participants
suffered injuries due to pepper gas and beatings. The physical abuse and
racial humiliation continued in the police station.
This news of this Luxembourg police action was criticized strongly in
their own country. By order of the Luxembourg Ministry of the Interior,
all 13 detainees were released a few hours after their arrest.
Luxembourg lawyers’ denunciation of the “disproportionate use of
violence” by the police was reported in the press. An investigation
committee of the Ministry of the Interior then dealt with this police
deployment.
More than two years after the incident, just before the end of the
statute of limitations, the prosecutor’s office has announced newly
fabricated accusations. Six of the thirteen people who were originally
arrested are now accused of plotting an “armed rebellion“.
It is expected that the security authorities who were criticized, now
want to create a political show trial. Despite the lack of evidence, the
accusations are massive. Political trials are very rare in Luxembourg
and there is as not much public awareness there as there is in
neighboring countries. Therefore, we call for international observers to
come to the trial. Donations for travel and legal fees are also welcome.

Salut tout le monde!
En 2014, plus que 100 personnes ont participé dans la marche pour la
liberté de Strassbourg à Bruxelles pour revendiquer la liberté de
circulation pour toutes et tous. maintenant, 2 ans aprés, six activistes
doivent se présenter au tribunal pour une accusation en connection avec
un jour d'action à Luxembourg. Biensur, quelques un.e.s de vous se
souviennent encore des images de la réaction brutale de la police à la
protestation paisible en occasion de la réunion de l'UE concernant "la
lutte contre l'immigration illégale", ou peut-être vous y étiez
vous-mêmes...
La procedure judiciaire aura lieu le 29 novembre à 9 h à Luxembourg
(ville). Ne laissons pas nos ami.e.s activistes et ami.e.s subir cela
toute seule.
