To “Respect” Women, Trump Has to Respect Their Rights ![]() Copyright: 2016 Reuters “Nobody has more respect for women than I do. Nobody.” So said Donald Trump during his presidential campaign. But his other words and actions during and before the campaign made a mockery of that statement. Now that Trump is President-elect, he has an opportunity – and a responsibility – to demonstrate he really does respect women. From reproductive rights and maternal health to equal pay and paid family leave, many serious issues are on the table. “I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans,” Trump said in his acceptance speech. As president, he needs to back those words with actions that demonstrate true respect for the half of “all Americans” who are women.
