The world remains focused on events in the United States today, which two days ago elected Donald Trump as the country's new president. Several cities saw anti-Trump protestors take to the streets, and there are some fears that, in the aftermath of such a vitriolic and divisive campaign, hate crimes could rise in the coming days.

Meanwhile people are looking ahead to what kind of president Donald Trump will turn out to be, both internationally and on the domestic stage.

But worries of rising intolerance are not singular to the United States. Too many politicians around the world are using racism and intolerance to incite fear and score political points.
