LOVE IS PERFECTED IN HEAVEN

Against the crafty trap laid by the Sadducees with their hypocritical question, Jesus has a fitting answer, God is not God of the dead, but of the living because to him all of them are alive. He is the source of life, he is eternal life. The Gospel message is about a new life, a new creation, something totally different. Jesus offers each of us this new life in heaven, and heaven is the promise of something new and something better. In other words, in the new life that God offers us, there will be no more of the same pain, the same suffering, the same trials of this world. The Sadducees thought that with death, God’s concern for his people ended. Similar is our thinking too especially when we experience situations like, helplessness, dejection and failures, and we think that God has completely neglected us. Jesus today reminds us that God’s care is not limited to this world. We are not the children of this age, but of the God’s amazing love perfected in heaven through the Resurrection.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen our belief that on the resurrection day we shall rise. Amen.
