LESSONS IN DISCIPLESHIP
There are three laws in the Gospel passage of today. They can bring a radical change in the believer’s life. One who follows these laws faithfully will bring a revolution in his life.
The laws are:
1. Sin is inevitable as Jesus said ‘things that cause people to sin are bound to come’. But leading others to sin is the most terrible thing.
2. Jesus said that if a person sins against us, we are to rebuke him; but if he repents, we are to forgive him, no matter how great the sin against us, no matter how big a stumbling block is put in our path.
3. Faith is one of the most powerful forces in the world. The disciple should have genuine faith. The stress is not on how much faith a person has; it is a matter of possessing and having faith.
Jesus metaphorically speaks about uprooting a tree and planting it in the sea. When we are faced with something impossible in our life, we should trust in the power of God to do the impossible.
Prayer: Lord, increase our faith so that we may build Your kingdom. Amen.
